Notre Dame is undefeated, but twice-tied, winner of the Suburban Catholic conference. Fullback Williams and Quarterback Jim Nelson spark the offense- of this strong Club-- probably the strongest team on the Marian schedule. It was held to a 0-0 tie with St. Edward. Marian lost to St. Edward, 26-21. The two clubs have played two other teams. Notre Dame beat St. Thomas of Rockford, 6-2, while Marian lost to St. Thomas, 30-20. Notre Dame beat Immaculate Conception, 20-14, on a last second, 45-yard desperation pass. Marian takes a 5-4 season record into the game after romping over Hiawatha of Kirkland, 35-6, last weekend. Marian's two quarterbacks, Mike Purvey and Bill Riley, functioned efficiently as Gary Church and Bernie Low bore the brunt of the running. The Hurricanes have won four in a row after a slow start against St. Edward's and IC. Other losses were to St. Thomas and Hononegah. One of Notre Dames best showings was in a losing Chicago's city public league, 28- 19. Notre Dame led, 19-14 until the final 90 seconds, when Taft scored two quick touchdowns. Taft has proven to be one of the strongest schools in Chicago, gaining the tinals of the public league playoffs. Notre. WOODSTOCK LEGION CARDS PROS IN BIG WRESTLING SHOW The Johnsburg Forester Basketball team went into orbit last Sunday on the home floor to score a 112 to 76 victory over Wonder Lake. This was Johnsburg's first game in the county league where competition is plenty strong. Don Bentz was in great form as he led the scoring with 43 points, sizzling the nets with 16 field goals and 11 free throws. Aggressiveness on the part of the winners brought a call of 32 fouls, but the boys are working to smooth out their defense to cut down the calls. Phil Judson, famous Hebron player, will bring his North Chicago five to Johnsburg next Sunday, Nov. 20, for a game that is a sure bet to bring out a crowd. johnsburg (112) F.G. F.T. P. T.
