The village sure looked deserted. I sure fussed to have a nice dinner for our family including Grandma and Grandpa. Happy Holiday The Gunther household had a busy holiday, son Fred, was home for; a few days, daughteHfearbtira, and son, Bill, his wife, Joyce, and baby, Denise, came for turkey dinner. On Saturday, Irma took the children into Chicago for a visit with relatives and a Communion toarty for her friend's daughter. - yfonderful Visit Paul and Nancy Colomer entheir son, John's, visit from the Seminary. Paul had sortie. anxious moments on Wednesday waiting at the despots Jn Waukegan when none of the trains let son, John, or Irma*s son. Fred. off. Later on they found out the train made no stop in Waukegan, but went to Evan ston instead, so the boys had to take a commuter tra»ta ltnck. but as Ion*? as they en back safe and sound was all that mattered. It was also a happy holiday for the Cammorata household. Daughter. Mary, her husband, Naso, and their son, Keith, also another daughter, Judith, were guests. Larry supplied the music with his accordion, and the family danced with joy being grateful that Mrs. jteammorata wa^feeling better |and able to en.ify with them, j The Brown family had a Thanksgiving dinner at home entertaining their daughter, H. Meyer and family, from Oakhurst subdivision south of Mc- Henry, and son. Jack Brown, family from Chicago. On a T^p The Richard Schneider family spending a few days in their North Woods Estate, near Portage. Wis., probably deer hunting. Wish you luck, Dick, hope you come home with a deer or two. Belated, Wishes The Hermann family was busy with birthdays starting wilil Halloweeh. Chuck was se^pteen, Oct. 31, Billy h hi^birthday on Nov. 4, am grandson, Carl, was a big one on Nov. 23. A silver wedding anniversary was also celebrated Nov. 7. The Muleski home also celebrated two birthdays. Linda waii six years old on the twenty- second. She had a birthday Page Twenty-One^ party with eighteen of her little school chums. The children were served plenty of goodies and received prizes for games they played. Baby sitter Donna was one year old Nov. 16, and had a family birthday party on Saturday. Birthday wishes also go to Susan Roggenbuck, who celebrated her birthday on the sixteenth. Village Meeting The next village meeting will be held in the village hall on Monday, Dec. 5. Applications Walter Casey has just received the 1961 applications for license plates, for trucks and passenger cars. He also has the applications for transfers of titles. If anyone is interested Wally will also be glad to pick up the plates for anyone who so desires. Froelig, who is in the St. Therese hospital in Waukegan. Geci^e Stader went hunting for a week and brought home more pheasants than ducks. Happy birthday to Ken Froelig Dec. 1 and Roger Weiss Dec. 5. The Don Zamastil family made al tour of relatives in Addison and Cicero, Thanksgiving. Plstakee Terrace News The association meeting will be held Dec. 5. 1 The Ladies meeting will be Dec. 8 at the home of Loretta Kern. This meeting will start at 8 p.m. sharp. Please try to attend these meetings. Dance The Nov. 19 dance was a success with over 100 people attending. Delicious refreshments were served and all had a wonderful time. A big thanks to all who helped make this dance a success. Visiting Sunday On Nov. 20 George andMary Mecko and son, Mike, took Irma Gunther and her daughter, Dorothy, along when they went to see their daughter, Carol. We are all anxiously awaiting for her to come home for Christmas vacation and the children again enjoy going caroling with her. Thanksgiving News Mr. and Mrs. Charles Childers had dinner in Chicago with Chuck's mom and dad, also the Frank. Childers family. Mr. and Mrs. Walker came in from Des Moines anxious to see the new Childers baby. Loretta Kern had a great big turkey, too big for her to handle, had to call for help. She entertained Mr. and Mrs. William Kern, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kern from Wheaton, Mr. j and Mrs. Lester Carlson from | Wonder Lake, and Mr. and 1 Mrs. Beneky from Chicago. Brownies Loretta Kern is now the committee woman for the Brownies of Sunnyside Estates. Bowling News The bowling team is now in second place, working hard to come in first. Party Grace Vyduna had a "Come As You Are Party" Nov. 18 for the ladies. She was assisted by Joyce Toepper and Jean Erickson. There were twenty-eight ladies present, some in their nightgowns and house slippers. Homemade douehnuts and biscuits were served. They all had a grand time being dressed as they were. HOLD TUBERCULIN TESTING CLINIC AT TWO SCHOOLS A tuberculin testing clinic for the first grade pupils of Harrison and Ringwood schools will be held on Monday, Dec. 5, at the Harrison school. Permit cards have been sent to the parents of the first graders by the McHenry County Tuberculosis association. This is a very simple test and all parents are urged by Mrs. Claribel H. Naylor, R.N., McHenry county tuberculosis nurse, to give their consent and ! return the card at once to the school. Christening Mr. and Mrs. Don Zamastil had a christening for their baby, Betty Lynn, Nov. 27. The godparents were Mary Casper and Glen Zamastil. The attending guests were Mr. and Mrs. William Zimmermann, Mr. and Mrs. 3wmtil, th« grandparents, also Mr. and Mrs. Kasky, Mr. and Mrs. Hrouda, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Seibert, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Casper with their three children. T h e r e was exciting, entertainment and plenty of delicious food. The bird of paradise was out of this world. Hosting the evening were Dud and Lee Gregg, Cris and Irv Sorenson, Don and Audrey Morin and Ed and- Virginia Thoren. Ed was unable to attend because he was ill but he did have his hand ijt the planning of the evening. The committee put a lot of planning and work into, - the evening to make it a success. Sympathy All the friends and neighbors of Archie Fletcher extend their s y m p a t h y . A r c h i e ' s f a t h e r passed away on Nov. 18 at the St. Therese hospital where he had been a patient for about a month. A memorial service was held at the funeral home In Fox Lake on Monday afternoon. Nov. 21. by the Rev. James H. Hagerty. of .the Mount Hope church. They're Off Again Once again I am receiving complaints about dogs running loose throughout the community. They are' also running in grouos of three or four and causing much damage and disturbance. If your dog is loose how about keeping it tied or at least on your property. Mount Hope Church Rev. David Strickley is the new assistant pastor of Mount Hope church. He assisted with the Nov. 20 service and will also guide the affairs on the M.Y.F. He and his wife, Roberta, have a one and a half year old daughter, Mary Ann. Honored at Shower Judy Krumwiede was the guest of honor at a stork shower on Nov. 19. The party was given bv the women of the Fox Lake Baptist church which Judy attends. Mr. Jacobson of Broadway was a patient last week at a Chicago hospital. Herb and Lorraine Lindemann spent a quiet Thanksgiving at home, just the two of them. Ed Thoren was quite ill for a week and was able to return to work just before Thanksgiving. I am pleased to report that Cletus Mayer is feeling much better after her recent ailment. Haze and Dick Morley were visited last Sunday by Dick's sister, Helen, and her family. Ed and Virginia Thoren entertained Ed's folks and Virginia's brother and his family from Itasca, on Thanksgiving day. Dud and Dee <»regg spent Thanksgiving in Chicago visiting with Dud's parents. Belated birthday wishes to Rocky Eide who had his twelfth birthday last week. I extend my sincere sympathy to Cletus Mayer who lost her mother some two weeks ago. I'm sorry I didn't hear about it sooner. Cletus was unable to attend because of the long trip to California. Her doctor advise against it. Is My Face Red In last week's column I reported that Pat and Ron Jackson would have their son, daughter and grandchildren with them on Thanksgiving day. It should have read that Marge and Bill Moreth etc., etc. Please don't call her grandma, "Pat". . That's the news for another week. Hope to be hearing from you with your news items.
