The boys will be under the supervision of their den leaders, Rosemary Lutz, Gladys Jones, Lorraine Hurckesj LaVerne Jost, Hazel Morley and John Emmerich. They will coyer the Pistakee Highlands, Pistakee Hills and Sunnyside Estates area. The money from this drive will go to operate all scouting activities in, our Tina O'Haliy, Doris Hanson, El&ftie Galetkaahd Airs. Haddock. Caki, jello and coffee were served along with lots and lots of conversation. Girl Sconts The Girl Scouts enjoyed bowling at Ingleside on Nov.. 27. The girls learned how to make roses. Honored at Shower Janice Janquart was the guest of honor on Nov. 28 when a baby shower was given for her by Lee Conway. Janice received many lovely gifts for the soon-to-be blessed event. Mrs. Elmer Martineau is in Victory Memorial hospital in Waukegan following an automobile accident near Gages Lake last week. We all send our best wishes for a speedy recovery, Belle. Joe Ullo missed a day of work last week because He wasn't feeling well. Mrs. Lil Orlowski is home from the McHenry hospital where she spent four days last week. Kay Sielisch has been going to see Lil every morning and making her more comfortable. Your reporter is also going around with a bad cold. Triple Celebration A party was held last Saturday night at the home of Dick and Lee Conway. It was in honor of the Conways' anniversary and the birthdays of Bill Barron and Dick Morley. Bill's birthday is Dec. 6 and Dick chalks another year on Dec. 10. Everyone had a good time dancing and enjoying the food that was served. He will have $ party with some of his friends, Mr. and Mrs. O'Neil spent their holiday with Mrs. O'Neii's parents in Chicago. Last Sunday Don and Wanda Dobecki and their five children took a trip to the Museum of • Science and Industry. They were especially thrilled with the coal .mine. They had lunch down town and also got a look at the new McCormack building. The Reinhardts lost their pet dog last week when it ran into the path of a car and was killed. Wally and Audrey Misavice and family spent their holiday in Chicago visiting with Audrey's folks. Wally Sielisch spent last Friday night visiting his mother in Downers Grove. Leif, Emma and Rocky Eide spent last Sunday at the Chicago stadium. They watched a famous basketball team in action. Barbara Sisk has her grandmother, Elizabeth White, staying here for a few weeks. Mrs. White is from Chicago. Martin and Hazel . Rogde spent last Saturday and Sunday visiting Hazel's mother and sister in DeKalb. Don and Audrey Morin and Audrey's sister, Jackie, and her husband spent last weekend in Neenah, Wis. They were visiting Audrey's brother, Bob, and his wife. Now that we have had our first taste of the winter snows all the youngsters are anxious to put their sleds into action. I saw a few of them last week giving the near by hill a try out. COUNTY RESIDENTS JOIN SEARCH FOR PRIZE HOMEMAKER Dozens of 'McHenry county residehts turned detective recently as they aided in the annual search for the American Hotnemaker of Tomorrow. The residents, employees at Science Research Aassociates' materials handling center at Woodstock, adapted Henry Ford's assembly line procedures to the needs of education. In j u s t f o u r - a n d - o h e - h a l f days the workers -- mostly women who are themselves homemakers -- packed materials, including thousands of test booklets, . answer .sheets and pencils for the massive high school testing program. Working along a 39-foot "C"-shaped assembly line, the workers each day handled materials for 90,000 lest registrations and loaded 3,200 cartons. Girls in their senior year at enrolled high schools, anywhere in .the United States are eligible to compete. The tests were given this year in high schools across the country on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
