The tea will be held on Dec. 15 at 3:30 p.m. in the public school. The girls will receive their second year pins at this time. Elaine Fail was cookie hostess for this meeting. This troop will be out carolling oij Thursday evening, Dec. 22. After which they will congregate at the Peterson home for hot chocolate and cookies. A gift exchange will also take place on this evening. A reminder of the three Forester Christmas parties to take place within the next week. The juvenile boy Foresters will hold their holiday celebration tonight (Thursday) in the community hall. A fifty cent grab bag exchange gift will be brought by each member attending. Bells Jingle-Jangle And "jingle-jangle" they did when Santa Claus put in his appearance at the Jak-Ana Heights association Christmas party last Sunday. About seventyfive residents were on hand to enjoy the Christmas spirit ! which seemed to prevail throughout the whole afternoon. Infant Baptized The very young son of "Si' and Bonnie Meyers was baptized John Charles in a 2 o'clock ceremony performed in St. John's church by Father Blitsch last Sunday. Sponsors for the baby were Mr. and Mrs. Lerov Meyers of McHenry. Present in Ihe Meyers home later in the day to celebrate the occasion were: Mi'- and Mrs. William .T. Meyers, Ray Page. Mrs. Helen Young, Miss Laura Meyers, and the Leroy Meyers family. Rescue Squad Called Out The members of our rescue squad were called, to McCullom Lake earlier last week. , A resident suffered an apparent hearl attack. The victim was removed to the McHenry hospital by ambulance. New Officers Elected At their December meeting held in the club hall, the members of the Johnsburg Community Club held election of officers. Newly elected into these offices were: Lloyd Freund as president, Ray Groh as vicepresident, Harry Freund as secretary and Tom Huemann as treasurer. Stanley Freund and "Bud" Miller are the two new directors. I About 160 men were present last Tuesday evening for the first meeting in the reorganization of the Holy Name Society. Chosen to lead this group as the new officers were: Mike Schaefer as president, "Red" Davis as vice-president, James Basch as treasurer and Richard Marsh as secretary. These future meetings will take place monthly in the community club hall. UNIFY PROGRAM All 102 Illinois counties are now operating under the state's compulsory test and slaughter plan for the elimination of brucellosis in cattle. The last 12 counties to come under the plan were declared areas for certification after they were found to have less than 3 per cent infection in dairy and b r e e d i n g c a t t l e o v e r f o u r months of age. Counties added last week were Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Fulton, Hardin. Henry, Jersey, Marion, Sangamon, Schuyler and Stark. Sixty- seven counties have been certified as modified-brucellpsis- free, which means that infection is less than one per cent. This also includes the noon hour. On Saturday, Dcc. 24, the post office will be open from 2 to 4 in the afternoon. The full cooperation of the public is essential in handling Christmas mail. Mailing early is most important. Anything mailed on or after Dec. 16 cannot be assured delivery before Christmas. Local mailing before Dec. 20 is essential if delivery is to be made before Christmas. It was also the annual Christmas party and there was a gift exchange. A delicious dinner of fried chicken and fried shrimp was served. A farewell dinner was held for Lt. and Mrs. Charles Korus, who left for Maine on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Lt. Korus is a radar interceptor with the U. S. Air Force and is stationed in Bangor, Maine. Coming Events The Christian Mothers' sodality'of St, Peter's will hold its annual Christmas party at the parish hall on Thursday night, Dec. 15, at 7:00 o'clock; A pot-luck buffet supper will be served and a program has been arranged to entertain the ladies.
