Berkley-Wagner Rite Saturday Zion Lutheran church in McHenry was the" scene of one of the year s prettiest weddings to date when Miss Doris Mae B e r k l e y e x c h a n g e d n u p t i a l vows with Mr. Edward C. Wagner, Jr., last Saturday, Jan. 21, in a 4:30 o'clock service. Rev. C. A. Lobitz officiated at the rite which united in marriage the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Berkley or Edgebrook Heights and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Wagner of Rt. 7, MCHenry. Bouquets of white carnations and snapdragons adorned the altar, and white satin bows were placed on the pews for the candlelight service. Mrs. Mary Ann Wegener was soloist, singing "O Perfect L o v e " and "The L o r d ' s Prayer". The attractive, young bride chose a white chantilly lace gown over taffeta, styled with basque bodice, long tapered sleeves and boiaffant skirt which widened into a\ court train. The scoop /neckline was detailed with embroidery of irid e s c e n t s e q u i n s and ^ s e e d pearls. Her fingertip veil was of imported silk illusion and fell from a double crown, of matching lace with iridescent sequins and seed pearls. Miss Berkley carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and stephanotis. Miss Sharon Berkley acted as maid of honor for her sister, and bridesmaids were Miss Nancy Rudat of Crystal Lake and Miss Sandra Berkley or McHenry, her sister. All were attired similarly in bright red satin dresses, styled with scoop necklines, bracelet length sleeves, fitted bodices and bell skirts, and waistlines detailed with narrow bands of self flat bows at the front. Circfifer milan veils were secured by self flat bows of matching crimson satin, and they had matching shoes. White satin gloves and pearl necklSSg^and earrings were gifts from^- the bride. All three carried cascade bouquets of white carnations and roses, with the carnations of the maid of honor tinted red on the edges. Donald J. Wagner served his brother as best man and groomsmen were Kenneth Will of Wheeling and Lloyd Pohlman of Woodstock. She had a similar corsage: About 350 friends and relatives gathered at the V.F.W. clubhouse in McHenry for a reception following the ceremony. Later, the couple left on a wedding trip to Florida, alter which they will be at home on Rt. 7, McHenry. The bride, a 1958 graduate of McHenry high school, is now employed at the McHenry State bank. The groom received his education in Northfield, 111., and is now engaged in truck farming with his father. DAMAGE SUIT VERDICT A verdict of $1,750 was returned by a jury in circuit court last week in favor of Michael Kampe, 11, who asked for $35,000 in a suit filed by his father against Ralph Schuler of rural Woodstock.
