This was the first legislative bill signed by Gov. Kerner. The bill provides that townships having 7,500 at more inhabitants shall elect an additional supervisor for each 7,500 inhabitants. This refers to those townships located in counties having 150,000 to 275,000 population. It further provides that townships having 12,500 or more inhabitants shall elect an additional supervisor for each 12,500 inhabitants in counties having 275,000 or more population. Phone EV. 5-0098 Spring Grove LOCAL COUPLE TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE FOR ANNIVERSARY Mrs. Charles Freund To honor the forty-fifth wedding anniversary of Math and Mary Nimsgern "open house" will be held at St. Peter's parish hall on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 26, from two to five. Mary Pittges and Math Nimsgern were married Feb. 23, 1916, at St. Benedict's church, Chicago. Attendants at the ceremony were Anna Pittges now Hebgen, the bride's sister, and Martin Nimsgern. brother of the groom. Rev. Joseph Zimmerman officiated. Father Zimmerman is the uncle of Rev. Frank Zimmerman who was ordained at St. Mary's church, McHenry, in June, 1959. They have resided in Spring Grove since 1916. They were blessed with four children. Arthur of Spring Grove, Lawrence of McHenry, Berniece Lent of Spring Grove and Lucille Jordan of Sharon, Wis. They have fifteen grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the open house to extend best wishes and congratulations to the celebrants. Boy Scout Week Scout leader Pat Kagan and his troop of Boy Scouts attended eight o'clock mass and received holy communion as a group in uniform at St. Peter's church on Sunday morning. Breakfast was served them in the hall following the mass. On Tuesday evening the Boy Scouts entertained parents in the parish hall. The dessert lunch was^a beautifully decorated large birthday cake in honor of the birthdays of Mrs. Agnes May on Feb. 9 and Mrs. Dolores May on Feb. 10. Games of five hundred were played and the prizes were won by the birthday girls and Mrs. Luella May. Looks like the Mays "took over" that night, doesn't it? Rev. Edward Lehman and the ushers of St. Peter's met at the home of X3eorge A. May on Wednesday night for their regular meeting. On Thursday night Father and the ushers went out to dinner. Girl Scout Investiture On Sunda~y, Feb. 5, at the town hall an investiture ceremony was held for the new members of Girl Scouts of Spring Grove. After flag ceremony, Mrs. Class, Girl Scout leader, welcomed the parents and read the program. Mrs. Irma Winn has taken o v e r new l e a d e r s h i p f o r Brownie Troop 518 and Miss Jan Infield will be her helper. Committee mothers , for the Brownie Troop were pinned by Mrs. Elfrieda B a r t h, Girl Scout co-leader. They are Mrs. Mrs. Del Norton, Mrs. George Waspi and Mrs. Larry Pulk. A yellow rose trellis was set up in the center of the floor. Brownie fly-ups walked through this trellis to join the Girl Scout group. Cathy Class, Tari Baker, Barbara Winn, Cathy Murphy and Judy Spitzbart received their third yeat star and fly-up wings. Committee mothers for the Girl Scouts were then pinned. They are Mrs. Walter Monhardt, Mrs. Lloyd Spitzbart and Mrs. G. Baker. During the candlelight ceremony which represents the three parts of the Girl Scout promise, the ten Girl Scout laws were recited as the candles were lighted. Mrs. Class and Mrs. ' Barth pinned the fourteen new Girl Scouts. Guests from Girl Scout Council were Mrs. Vern Plato from Wonder Lake and neighborhood chairman Mrs. Rosemary Ehrke from Richmond. Refreshments were served by fly-up scouts to the parents who attended.
