A lecture on "SOUND" proved to be very i n t e r e s t i n g . T h e M c H e n r y Shores ladies and their guests were: Ellen Duncan and Terry Coates, Mildred Snively and Mary Lou Miller, Daisy Smith and Alice McKelly, Bea Mac-, Callum and Irene Middlekauff, Helen Smith and Pearl Paulin. A musical presented by the WSCS of the Community Methodist church at the V.F.W. hall on March 15 attracted an appreciative group from McHenry Shores. The acting and singing of Ann Varese, rlrma Blomgren, and a cast opi talented youngsters in the "Sound of Music" delighted the audience. The theater party from our area included Dolores Stark, Marge Olszewski, Audrey Whitney, Ellen Duncan, Irene Middlekauff, Leah Hogan and * her mother, Daisy Smith, Leone Wagner, Alice McKelly, Helen Smith, Rutn Dodge, Marian Barrows, Bea MacCallum, Louise Winters, V i r g i n i a V e r s t e g e , M i l d r e d Snively, Marylou Miller, and Pearl Paulin. ^ Another party for the week was one given by the Clausens. Herb and Winifred Clausen, assisted by their daughter, Betty, who came from Chicago for the week, entertained with a luncheon and card party on Tuesday. This affair was full of fun and entertainment. Ann Connor likes to throw sevens but lost out to Marie Hinz who took first prize at their table. Our reporter tells us that Leah Hogan, Virgie Verstege and Mildred Snively took first prizes at their bridge tables. Irene Mueller finished first in the canasta game, and Stevie Korczyk won at her table. with their three lovely children live in that bi-level at 216 Miller drive. The three little ones are made of "sugar and spice and' everything that is nice" and their names are Therese Kathleen, age 7, Patrice Ann, age 5, and Leslie Mary, age 4. The Brunke family moved to McHenry Shores from (Chicago in August, 1959, and have been a part of every community activity since that time. Art and Alicp are members of the McHenry Shores club and the Shores Social and Athletic club. Art's activities during his spare time includes basketball and baseball, and they say he is a rough umpire. Alice was elected to the office of second vice-president of the McHenry Shores club for 1961 and in this position she heads the ways and means committee. Busy people aren't they?
