PATRICK'S DAY MARKED WITH TWO PARTIES SATURDAY f five Levetque "Wearin' of the Green" was Very much in evidence on Saturday night with festivities at • both business houses--Whitey and Bernice's and McDonald's. The first party was given by the Men's Club and Mrs. Marge Olsen won the prize for most green. She . was completely attired in that color! -- from head to toe, and inside and out! This fact was confirmed by an inspection team. Her gift was a lovely Ice bucket. Over 100 guests crowded into the place and sitting space was at a premium. Excellent dance music was provided by "McNamara's band". Lenny Jensen and Dave Hansen convulsed the assembly with four numbers in pantomine, and both men were attired in clothing to represent little girls. Records supplied the appropriate background music. Everyone attending Joined in doing the ""hokeypokey" and a Conga line. Corned beef, cabbage and potatoes provided hearty sustenance and all the cooking was done by Mrs. Ole Olsen. The committee was comprised of the John Granaths, Ole Olsen, the Chet Helwigs, and Gert and Bill Walter. Twas quite an evening for all who attended. The second soiree was held at McDonald's and was a combination bowling and refreshment affair. McDade's teams from Chicago were the invited guests and were walloped to the tune of 333 pins. The local boys who emerged victorious included Fred Matthesias, Charley Brennan and brother, Bill, Ray Kuna, Dick Kleinhuizen, Harry and Ray Blake, A1 Diedrich, Ed O'Brien, Bill Scheid, Ray Stilling, Bill Padgett, John Lonze, Ron Lockwood, and Ken Petska. "City slickers" were George Morvev, Bob Bolder, Bob Lugo, Stan Anderson, Art Beam, Roy Johnson, Cliff Pettipas, Del Owen, Gene Anderson, Herr Hellman« Don Freier, Hank Bade, B. Gilliam, Ed Moleterno and Earl Green. • "Top man on the totem pole" was Fred Matthesius with a total of 605 pjns. His parents are Sally's grandmother and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Scimaca of Chicago. Ecstatic, grandparents (and very young ones, too) are Sally's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Nelson of Norwood Park. The little fellow weighed ^eight pounds but in the telephone interchanges, everyone forgot to ask his name! Rheumatic Fever Victim Lynn Hammerstein, almost 10 year aid daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hammerstein, Jr. (former residents) was a patient at the McHenry hospital for five days last week. Her paternal grandparents are the senior Hammersteins of Maple drive and both couples were in anguish Over the health of the youngster. She was diagnosed as a rhematic fever victim" but fortunately it was caught in1 time apd no serious hefirt damage occurred. The young ladjr will be bedded for about three weeks in her home, receiving mother Betty's tender ministrations. Here's hoping fipr recovery is swift and complete!
