APR. 10 Jane, Ducey Registration date for boys Who wish to participate in Little League has been set for Monday, April 10. Registration Will take place at ,the fire bouse from 6 to 7:30 p.m. ' Due to a revision in rules the age limit this year will be 9- 12. In order to be eligible a boy must have reached his ninth birthday by August 1. Anyone Wta reaches his thirteenth birthday before August 1 will be ineligible to play this summer. No applications will be accepted by any boys who have not tinned in their uniforms from last year. These uniforms must be returned CLEAN. Dentistry for .Handicapped The McHehry County associat$ n for Retarded Cfyjldren will hear Dr. Walter Chniiel of Round Lake speak on "Dentistry for the Handicapped Child" at their meeting Monday, April 3, in room 109 at the McHenry high school. Dr. Chmiel is well known in surrounding counties -for his work with handicapped and extremely difficult children. A question and answer period will telbw his talk. The public Is Invited. Director Josserand Has Two Hits Finding a secretary for William Watson (played by Tom Weisenberger) was the kernel of the play "Take a Letter" produced by the eighth grade class at Harrison Friday night. Oysters in the cast were Judy Frederick, Pam Huebner, Jeanne Griswold, Judy Baerwaldt, Louise Ruggero and Carol Watkins. "It's Cold in Them Thar Hills" was the title of the second play, a (you guessed it) Hillbilly comedy. Maw and Paw were played by Julie Thompson and Tony Bird, whose chief concern was to rpM*Ty off "Snoddy", their 19 y«Sir old daughter to the "City Slicker". Connie Candella played the role of "Snoddy". Other characters were played by Roberta Burns, Judy Malochleb, Linda Mansfield. Bonnie Bruce, Diane Schuster, Gary Mum, Lee Habich, Linda Gallas and Terry Miller. <Mr. Josserand directed both plays. Proceeds from tickets are used by thejclass to defray expense of their Springfield trip. • * • . 4-H Study Menu Planning The Wonder Workers 4-H club met March 23 with Krysia Oleszczuk presiding. Minutes were read and roll was called by Kathy Ahrens. Federation, health and safety reports were given by Jackie, Patti, and Mickey Hansen. Patti Hansen also made the treasurer's report. At this meeting the girls judged talks and demonstrations. They found a few mistakes the girls made when baking. Demonstrations were given by Linda Mansfield for Spanish rice, and by Pamela Carlson on "How to Make Coffee Cake". Patty Hansen gave a talk on 4-H camp. Jackie Hansen led the group in recreation. Leader of the club, Mrs. Jay Hansen, spoke on "Menu Planning" to bring the meeting to a close. Bible Church News Rev. A. J. Moser will share the pulpit with Pastor Wright on Good Friday when the Alliance Bible church of McHenry joins with-the Wonder Lake church. Service starts at 8 p.m. NOTICE- There will be no boys or girls club meetings on Good Friday. The Ladies Missionary Guild has an important mee ting Thursday, March 30, at 8 p.m. Miss Siva Swanson, home on furlough from the Congo, will be the guest speaker. She will tell about missionary work in that country and also show pictures. Mrs. Dan Tomano and Mrs. Ed Dornbush are hostesses for the evening. Anyone interested in the program is most welcome to attend. Wayne King, evangelist, will be present at all services on Easter Sunday. He will have a flannel graph 'story for the Sunday school hour and will take part in the morning worship service. He will show an excellent visual aid program in the evening service and provide music with illustrated hymns. Nativity Lutheran Church News Holy Thursday service at 7:45. The sacrament of the Lord's supper will be administered at this service to commemorate our Lord giving the first Lord's Supper. The new communion set given by the Altar Guild will be dedicated and used for the first time. The sermon will be, "Steps to the tipper Room". Service of the "Veiling of the Cross" will be held Good Friday. This new traditional service at Nativity will be made even more meaningful in the new church. The sermon, will be, "Steps to the Cross". Service begins at 7:45. There will be three worship services on Easter. . . at 6 a.m. the Sunrise service, sponsored by the Luther League. Service will be held in -the church with the unveiling of the cross. Service will be followed by the Easter youth breakfast. At the 8 o'clock worship service the junior choir will sing. Sunday school will be as usual at 9:15 and 11 at which each child will, receive a plant as a symbol of the Resurrection, and the Easter story in a small book. At the ll worship service a nursery is provided for the small children. The Women of the Church Will neet April 3 and 4. The annual program and emphasis on world missions will be presented at both circle meetings. The Evening Circle meets Monday, April 3, at 8, and the Daytime Circle at 9:30 April 4. A fine program, with displays and materials will he presented for everyone's interest. Come and bring a friend. Christ the King Church News Maundy Thursday at 8 p.m: the Mass of the Last Supper. Good Friday at 8 p.m.--Liturgy of Good Friday including Adoration of the Cross and Holy Communion. Saturday 4 to 5 p.m. and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. (adults) "Survival" Program at Holy Name Meeting The Holy Name society will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday, April 10. in th6 school hall. Meeting starts at 8 pjn. Following the meeting, the program committee has arranged for an excellent color film to be shown. The title of this 'film "Seconds for Survival* narrated by Raymond Masgey. It is a picture well worth seeing since it is an ext r e m e l y i n f o r m a t i v e n a t u r e andjyiewers will appreciate the readiness of the U.S. in the event of an enemy attack. All men of the parish are invited to attend and bring along their friends and sons. The showing of the film will be promptly at 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the program.
