Won't you please do your share and shoulder a little of the burden? It takes more than a handful 6f people, to accomplish any 4^1 good -- it takes each and every individual. In the near future a date will be set and volunteers will be asked to help clean the beach. Get your tools together and be ready when the date is set. As you know we are beginning a new year and now is the time to pay your dues. A parking association must have money to carry on its work. At the close of the meeting cakes baked by Florence Wehrmann, Jean Benoche and Dorothy Bierchen were served with coffee and milk.« P»g» FUMU A Family Get Together Lillian and Frank Gore spent a recent weekend in Addison with their son and #fitoghter-in-law, Chester and Lucille, and grandsons, Bobby and Jimmie. It was a party dear to the heart of any six-year-old with games, prizes, ice cream, cake, candy and ballons. Helping Kathy celebrate and bringing nice gifts were Gail McDonald, Diane Noah, April Pritchard and Lauri and Terri Radtke. Friday, May 26, LaVerne Noah gave a birthday party for her eight-year-old daugh ter, Donna. The kids played games, won prizes, ate ice cream, cake and pop. Ernie, Jr., and Marty, spent some time visiting her parents ifi Chicago while husband, Ernie, was on a two weeks fishing trip in Canada. Let's Go Visltin' Let's visit those two nice people, Katherine and Legs Bute, at 1916 W. Grandview drive. They moved to Sunnyside Estates in Feb. 1957 from the north side of Chicago. They have four offsprings, Kenny, 22, who has just finished a hitch in the Marines and is in the Reserves. Kenny will be married in September to Lydia Swarz of Wheeling. Then there is pretty Kasyle who is seventeen and attends McHenry high school. Next comes red-headed devilish Kelly who is six and is in the first grade at St. John's, and lastly there is tiny and dainty Kimmie who is four years old and keeps her mommie company while the other kids are pursuing their various activities. Legs works in Chicago and has many hobbies, among them umpiring soft ball games. He enjoys golf, all sports and was a former ball player. Katherine's hobby is interior decorating and she enjoys gardening. Incidently, they have the prettiest basement in these parts, painted and decorated by Katherine. Clever gal, she! . Parade '"mrf'Scmit Trwop 295. Brownie Troop 150 and Boy Scout Troop 144 participated in the Memorial Day parade in McHenry. My spies tell me that it was a c&lorful and exciting event. Successful Surprise The surprise party for Mr. and Mirs. Kimbro on Sunday, May 28, in honor of their golden wedding anniversary was a success. Not a word of the secret leaked out and both were flabbergasted as their guests began to arrive. Lillian and Frank Gore, Grace and George Owen and Clif and Andy Sabby helped them celebrate. Mr. Gore brought along his concertina and the six serenaded Mother and Dad with love songs. They received some lovely gifts, many cards and long distance calls from relatives and friends in Tennessee. The only flaw in an otherwise perfect day was that Jim was in Los Ancjeles and unable to be with us. Graduates Next week I hope to have for you the names of the graduates in Sunnyside Estates. The sun was bright, and it was perfect for our observance of Memorial Day. This was one of the all too few opportunities for us, as a town and as private citizens to display our love and reverence for our flag!!! And where were all those flags????? The number proudly on display was pitifully small. "The next important opportunity for us to unfurl the Stars and Stripes in all its glory, is Flag Day on June 14. This is the anniversary of the adoption by Congress of the American Flag, in 1TTT.\ "Let's all make a real effort to prove that we haven't forgotten -- Patriotism may be dozing in many of us; but Fm sure it's not dead. Once we begin by small acts of remembrance, I'm sure we'll be surprised at what an enjoyable and worthwhile habit expression of faith and love, for our country and flag can be-' come.
