It's huge and clean And beautiful. The hours were from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. but at 6:30 p.m. some hardy souls were still working. Orchids and ia low bow to Joe DeFrancisco, Jim Farley, Bernice and Earl Fry, Joe Jost, A. S. Kimbro, Qeorge Kropf, Jerry Olsen and his father-in-law, Mr. Hoody, Rick Radtke, Karen Rau, Jim Tyler and his guest, and Stan Walczynski for all their hard Work. Orchids also to Stevie and Jim Farley, Jr., Sandy and tommy Fry and Laureli and Teddy Jost who donned their bathing suits and raked the seaweed out of the water. It took a lot of hard, back-breakihg work but their efforts were more than rewarded- 6y the finished task. Let's hope that all of you will pitch in now and keep the beach clean and ftiowed. I just heard that Alice and Ray Bieschke came home from their vacation and hauled away some of the debris left from burning on the beaeh./VVe add their names to the orchid list. of you who refrained from sprinkling Sunday and Monday, June 18 and 19, so the water tower could refill. I am informed that a 32 horsepower motor was or will be installed in the near future and our water problems will be over. Stiver Anniversary About fifty people gathered at the Bute home Sunday, June *8. to help Katherine and Legs celebrate their silver wedding Anniversary. Their guests came ifrom Chicago and St. Charles and Sunnyside Estates to enjoy the picnic style celebration. A beautiful three tiered wedding cake was baked by Dolores Hanahan and presented to the Celebrants. They received some beautiful gifts and money from their friends. A Southern Trip Mary Rose, son Donnie, and sister-in-law, Elvina Ahren of Racine, Wis., have just returned from an extended southern trip. They drove to Knoxville, Tenri., and spent some time with Herb's brother, Warren Rose, and his family then on to Jackson, S. Carolina to visit Mary's sister, Johnnie Mae Neuman and family. From there they went to Savanah, Ga., to visit her brother, Fred Edwards, and family, then on to Jacksonville, Fla., to visit her mother, Mrs. Bessie Edwards, and sister, Virginia Borom, and family. They enjoyed sightseeing and the many points of interest as they took their leisurely trip. On their return they visited Cumberland Falls in Kentucky. They enjoyed their trip so much they are ready for a repeat. Graduation Party A surprise graduation party for Clif and Andy Sabby's grandson, Marty Kaleno, Jr.. was held in Prospect Heights Sunday, June IS, at the Kaleno home. About fifty guests from Oaklawn, Hammond, Chicago, Glenview and Sunnyside Estates attended and enjoyed the outdoor barbecue. Marty received some lovely gifts and money which he will use when he goes to college in Boston, Mass., in September. Little Patsy Kaleno returned home with Clif and Andy to spend a few days. Visitors i LaVerne and Kelly Noah were happy to have as guests her maternal aunt and uncle, Anna and A1 Johnson, and their 12 year old daughter, Susie, of Dallas, Texas. Visiting at the same time was La- Verne's moiher, Mrs. Emma J o h n s t o n , o f C h i c a g o a n d grandfather, Herman Baumeit, of Lebanon, Ind. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson" left Saturday for a visit to Mr. Johnson's mother, Mrs. Hannah Johnson, in Duluth, Minn. Home Again and Gone Again Alice and Ray Bieschke report that their vacation was perfect. They vacationed with Ray's cousins, Joan and Joe Krysh, who own a cottage at Lake Emily, near Stevens Point. Wis. The four caught 184 bass, crappie, blue gill and rock bass. Alice caught her first largemouth bass and was so excited she nearly fell in the lake. According to Ray the fish were "mighty good eatin"'. While they were gone little Tammy took care of Grandma Bieschke in Fox Lake. Alice and Tammy with her mother, Mrs. Mary Dietrich, and 14 year old brother, Kenneth, of Fox Lake, left Saturday, June 24, for a three week visit to Alice's eldest brother, Gordon, his wife, Arlene, and their sons, Steve and Joel, in Lantana, Fla. We hope they have a wonderful time. Let's Go Visitin' Let's visit my good neighbors, Mary and Red Davis, at 17i8 W. Grandview drive. They moved to Sunnyside Estates in February, 1957, <(vith their three sons and now have two daughters. The children are 12 year old Bill, 10 year old Neal, 5 year old Mark, 3 year old Monica and Maureen who is 18 months. Mary. has an evening job in McHenry and is an avid reader. Red Works for a printing company in Chicago and commutes daily. His hobbies are golf and bowling and he is very talented in working with wood. He has.made cabinets, dividers, etc. Nice neighbors, these folk. birthdays Happy birthday to Steve Major, Jr., on June 30. Greetings to Pat Bott on July 2, and a Yankee Doodle birthday to Emil Lemmens on July 4. Many happy returns of the day to all of you. Anniversaries Gladys and Laird Kayler will celebrate 15 years of marriage on June 29 and Barbara and Flo Jesski will celebrate 16 years on June 30. Congratulations, nice people. A Triple Celebration ' Fran and Jerry Olsen took advantage of Father's Day to hold a triple celebration. Their guests were Fran's parents, Mr. and MVs. George Hoody, Sr., from Omaha, Neb., who are spending some time here, Jerry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Olsen, sister, Susan and Grandma Muth of Chicago. There were lots of presents for Father's Day for Jerry, Mr. Hoody and Mr. Olsen. Mrs. Olsen celebrated her birthday on June 19 so there were birthday presents for her. Jerry celebrated his birthday on June 26 so there were more presents for him. He hit the jackpot. Jerry's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Hank Detlefsen, were also present at the evening barbecue for wJMcb-Jexry was chef. Doctoring Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gore spent the past two weeks in Chicago while Mr. Gore underwent treatment for an eye infection. A Birthday Party Four year old Carol Wegner celebrated her birthday Thursday, June 22, with a party given by her mother, Helen. Enjoying the candy, ice cream and cake were Tommie, Donnie and Ronnie Fiedler, Darlene Gerke, Janice Major, Cindy and Euster Simmons, sister, Kathy, and brother, Sieve.
