Smith had a very special reason for travelling to the Lee County Nursing Home last Sunday. Her far ther, John Plaritz, celebrated his ninty-eighth birthday: A party in his honor was held at the home at which time sixty guests were on hand to extend fffceir congratulations to him. A beautiful cake baked and decorated specially for the occasion was brought along by Lucille. Mr. Plantz has been a resident in the home since 1954 and is the oldest member there. He lived most of his life in Nachusa and still attends Sunday services there. Rescue Squad and f| Fire Calls The firemen of station 2 answered a call recently which took them to Rolling Acres where a field fire of undetermined origin had started. On the Fourth of July the rescue squad was summoned out on two boats calls within five minutes of one another The boats capsized in two separa^ g^ireas of the water. One fj^ar Half-Moon Island and the other near the Stermcr home on the river. One of the occupants had to be taken to the MjcHenry hospital.
