Michaelis, 74, of Edgewater sub|jvision, McHenry, who diea Aug. 9 in St. Joseph hospital, Elgin. Death followed twenty-three days of hospitalization after seven months of failing health following an auto accident in Wisconsin. Mr. Michaelis was born in Algonquin Nov. 17, 1886, and lived in Crystal Lake before moving to McHenry five years ago. He was employed as custodial at Electric Auto-lite Co. in Woodstock prior to his illness. Hhis wife, Bertha, died in 1946. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Mazur of McHenry, Mrs. Paul Boudreau of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Gladys Lokken of Appleton, Wis.; five sons, Harry of Mp-i Henry, Edgar and Norman of Wgoslptock, Grant of Rockford and*william Jr., of Ramona, Calif; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank, of Algonquin, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Muska and Mrs. Anna Morgan, both of Carpentersville. ;flev. Stephen M. Liddicoa't of .j United Protestant church, Grayslake, officiated at last rites, with burial in McHenry Crij£ty Memorial Park, Woodstock. Mrs. Carl G. Swanson, of Orchard Beach subdivision, McHenry. The deceased was born Aug. 24, 1864, in a log cabin in south Wheetland township, Macon county, south of Decatur. Her father, Joshua G. Purden, was a pioneer settler in the community and a close friend of Abraham Lincoln. Mrs. Morris was a charter memoer of the former Cumber- 1 a n d Presbyterian cnurch which merged with the Westminster church of Decatur. She had made her home with her daughter for the past eleven years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1927. Mrs. Morris leaves two daughters, Mrs. Swanson and Mrs. Lucy Durham;- three sons, John H., Harold R. and George L. Morris. Funeral services were held Monday from the Dawson-Wikoff funeral home in Decatur, with burial in Salem cemetery. The body was removed to Decatur from the Peter M. Justen funeral home. Rev. Daniel O'Connell officiated at last rites, followed by burial in the church cemetery. He was born in Waterford, Wis., April 25, 1891. In 1925 he was married to Helen Hendricks, and together they operated Helen & Ray's Coffee shop until 1946, when they sold the business because of poor health. GIVE SAMINA A. MORRIS Samina A. Morris, 96 years of .age, died Thursday, Aug. 3, at the home of her daughter, Midstream Drugs .stamps; Walgreen Agency 3720 W. Elm Si.
