It C'ould »<• Worse We aie sorry to lose Jean and Joe I.enoclie and daugh- M«»n at Work We noticed some improvements in our community on our return^ All the sp^ed signs have been erected due 4o the efforts of Messrs. JoHanseto, Magmus Olson and Kimbro. Harold Palmer and Mr. Kimbro put up the beach sign and a receptacle for trash was placed at the beach for your convenience. Please use it. The hole patching on the roads was done by Vince and Joe Jost. Jerry Olsen, Herb Rose and Mr. Kimbro. Stan Walczynski spent an afternoon mowing the grass at the beach and it certainly looked nice. Grass has a habit of crowing though and it needs cutting again. Whose turn is it now? Association Meeting The monthly meeting of the SEHOA was held the first Thursday of the month as usual. Many interesting topics were discussed and voted €lpon. First and foremost is the help which will.be needed Saturday, Aug. 12, for road repair. A load of cold pack material will arrive at 10 a.m. and dumped in various locations t hroughout the subdiv i s i o n s where there are paved roads. If your road is graveled. please fill any holes with gravfel from the edge of the road. Remember the date, Saturday, Aug. 12. Block captains have been chosen and are as follows: blocks 1 and 7 Lorraihe Major, 2 and 6 Dale Maule $nd alternate Velda Tyler, 3 and 5 Florence Kelso, 8 Marge Palmer and alternate Bernadine Grist, 9 Helen Wegner, 10 Jim Stevens and alternate Polly Stevens, 11 and 16 Carol Kennebeck, 4 and 13 Bernice Fry. Blocks 12, 14, and 15 will be covered by Carol Kennebeck, Marge Palmer and Polly Stevens. If there is any question you have or any assistance needed from, your block captain they will be more thftn happy to help you. Contkct the captain in your block. ! We are still asked to obsferVe the odd and even sprinkling days with an intermission from 3 to 9 p.m. The sheriff's o f-f i c e has agreed to cooperate with us in trying to maintain our speed limit. License numbers will be taken and turned over to the sheriff's office to press charges. Won't you please TRY to go a little slower? Parents are urged to keep their little ones out of the roads to help prevent accidents. Thare are so many vacant lots that ,can be used as playgrounds instead of the roads. Also many near accidents have resulted by carelessly left bikes, wagons and other toys on the roads. Have your child bring his toys home where they belong. The last but certainly not the least item is malicious mischief. The Senkeriks are away on vacation. When they return they will be greeted with two BB holes shot through their picture window. This was done deliberately and when the offender is caught he will be punished. Flash The Little League series was clinched Thursday night, Aug. 3, by the Braves with the.ir 6 to 3 win over the Cubs. The 8 and 9 year olds played their hearts out in this crucial game with all their parents as spectators. The manager of the Braves is Harold Palmer and coaches are Ed O/iminski, R. Dulaney, J. Long and J. Scott. The players are Mike Anderson, Jeff Dowed, Keith Dulaney, Chris Long, Sherwood Palmer, David Petterson, Bill Scott, Jim Scott, Bruce Thomas and Jimmy Zenner.
