Alice - Bieschke, spent the day picnicking; swimming and playing ponies. Helping transport the girls and joining in the fun were Loretia Kern, Betty Lakowske. Jackie Smolinski and Sylvia VonObstfelder. Most of the Brownies surprised their leaders by being able to swim, and it was a fun day for them all. Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. at the V.F.W. hall in McHenry. The affair is sponsored by the Democratic Women's ciub and the Creative Artist Guild. Our own Jerry Olsen. president of SEHOA. will display some of his paintings. In Ohio Chris Fail and daughters. Elaine, Merily and Melody, are visiting Don's sister and brother- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Derenburger. in Columbus, Ohio and lior parents, Mr. and Mrs. Saul Welch, in Jackson. Ohio. Parents! Parents! please caution your children about playing with the mail boxes. Residents have been missing mail which they knew was to be delivered. As you know, tampering with the mail is very serious and must not be allowed. Westward Ho Most of our residents have had a westward trend in vacations this year. Recently returned from a two week vacation to the far west is Harriet Turek. She visited her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Muscarello, in Burbank, Calif., for a few days. In I,as Vegas, Nevada, she visited her son, Thaddeus Jozwiak, also tried her hand at the gaming tables. "Win a buck, lose a buck." Back to Burbank for a short visit and then on jiome. Sounds like Harriet had a great time. Westward Ho Ho The Frys. Bernice. Earl, Sandy and Tommy, also took a western junket. They took in Colorado and most of its interesting places, Yellowstone National Park, Old Faithful, Colorado Springs and other places. Bernice told me she had never seen so many mountains and was glad to get back to the "flat lands" of Illinois. Westward Ho Ho Ho Lois and Bob McDonald and Iheir three children, Gail. Kennebeek and Gamperl Doin' Carol and Bud Kennebeek and kids, -Alan and Karen, recently returned • ff*om Park Falls, Wis., where they attended the wedding of her cousin. Rita Thier, to Arnold Loula on Saturday, Aug. 5. They were accompanied by Carol's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Gamperl, and stayed at the home of her maternal uncle and aunt, Tony and Marie Thier. They also visited Mrs. Gamperl's sister and husband, Mary and Bill Schnautz. There they enjoyed riding horses and the farm life. Hold on to your hats! Carol milked her first cow! I know there were others and I am sorry I did not get their names but everyone's help was greatly appreciated. Jerry Olsen and Melvin Simmons sfj^nt that afternoon painting the street sign posts. They really slung that paint. Papa Does the Work Clif Sabby spent a few days last week with her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Dick Ortbal, and grandchildren in Chicago. Andy spent the time at home, being chief cook and dish washer and entertaining joyed helping with the chores , one of their, grandsons, w Karen leved the horses. Two new calves were born during their visit and were named Karen and Alan--a male and a female, natch! On their return Carol and kids spent four days in Chicago just visiting around with her family and friends. The* Kennebeek household will be enlivened with yet another .youngster, little Dawn Gam peri, daughter of Carol's brother and wife, Bob and Marilyn; while they take a two week trip wjth Mr. and Mrs. Gamperl to Washington, New York and a tour of the New England slates. Ray Bieschke punctured his ear drum while water skiing. Recuperate fast, you all. Birthdays Happy birthday today, Thursday, to 11 year old Mickey Mikkelsen. Pat DeFrancisco becomes a teenager on Aug. 25. Even tho Lil Jensen is in California we still say happy birthday to her on Aug< 26. Greetings to Florence Kelso and Joe Martinez, Sr. on Aug. 27.
