After the proper motion and second was made, discussion followed. It was docreed by the president that discretion should prevail in the -use of the instrument. Traffic will be checked on the through road and also on streets within the village. The . posted limits are 40 m.p.h. on the blacktop and 20 m.p.h. along community streets. She was un<* a I vie to attend the festivities, but Marge and the kids did get to Great Bend to visit her. A few members of the family were among the missing including Ole Olsen and son. Tom, who stayed home to "bank the fires"! Roads were wonderful and the trip progressed so smoothly, Marge, Ted and little Margie "breezed" straight through for 780 miles and made the homeward leg in one day. Fine way to end the summer. A group of his young friends planned and carried through a surprise party honoring his sixteenth birthday. In the early hours of Friday morning a man from Sunnyside Estates suffered an attack which necessitated him being taken to the McHenry hospital for treatment. Sodality to Hold Meeting The Blessed Virgin Sodality will resume its fall schedule of meetings on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The meeting will start at 8 o'clock in the evening, in St. John's school hall. Visitors from the South Jack and Ollie Keenan of Pompano Beach, Fla., arrived here last Thursday. The Keenans will spend several weeks here during which time their son, Tom* will be married to Joan Blake on Sept. 16. Before arriving here Jack and Ollie visited the daughter, son-inlaw and granddaughter, the Don Dowes in Bloomington. Around the Town David Miller of Fort Benning, Ga., recently spent a fourteen day furlough with his parents, Joe and Alvina. Little Eddie Hettermann celebrated his sixth birthday on Aug. 29 by entertaining a few of his friends at his home. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Laures of Florida visited friends here last week. Joe and Alvina Miller spent the long holiday weekend visiting their son and wife, thai Bob Millers in Carbondale.
