Happy Birthday Wishes To Marge Casey on Nov. 9, to ten year old Ruthie Nicholai on Nov. 10, and to Cindy Casey and Helen Haynes who share the same birth date Nov. 13, and to Joan Kane on Nov. 14. And a belated greeting to Susan Idstein, who was five years old last Sunday, Nov. 5. Birthday Doings Nancy Hahndorf had a nice birthday party on Saturday. Nov. 4. She was 11 years old. There were a number of girls and all enjoyed whipped cream cake and ice cream and favors. Nancy received some very nice gifts. Belated happy birthday. Margie Kroening celebrated her fifth birthday Thursday evening. Her birthday was Nov. 3 but she celebrated it then. Guests were K a t h y and ChUckie Campo, Alan, Linda, Shirley and Johnhie Muerer, brother, Bobby, sisters, Ann, Bonnie and Teresa. All enjoyed cake, ice cream and all that goes with a party. Bon Voyage We would like to wish a safe and happy journey to Joan Krater's aunt, Miss Alice Walker, who is returning to her home in jolly old England. She spent an enjoyable two weeks with the Kraters going places and doing things. We hope she took some happy memories home with hei\ Bon Voyage. Visitors fcaui and Alma Brushabcr had visitors on Tuesday, Oct. 31. They were Frieda ana Einar Olson from Edgebrook Heights. Carole Knor and her son, Steve, were there and after introductions were made coffee and cake and enjoyea along with a chat. On Friday afternoon Paul and Alma returned the visit to t he Olsons and picked some apples. A hot lunch and coffee '• were served which was enjoyed after picking the apples in the cold weather. On Thursday Marie and John Behrendt from Lilymoor visited Paul and Alma. Shirley and Max Koch visitors Sunday were Rosemary and Jim Jones and their chiU dren from Hillside. Visiting Vivian and John Steele attended a surprise party Sunday for Vivian's mother who lives in Glenn Ellyn. The Matthews attended a beatnik party Saturday eve- It was held at their friends home in Schiller Park. Bill and Joan Krater spent a nice weekend at the home of Bill's sister and husband, Mr. ahd Mrs. A. Schmidt, who reside in Allendale, Mich. Jack and Petey Oakford were visited by their former landlords, Mr. and Mrs. F. Ol-" bert, and family who reside in Chicago. They enjoyed Petey's wohderful coo king < coughcough) and caught up on all the latest news from the old neighborhood. Meet Your Neighbor- Old, old timers are cat a and Francis Clark of 4701 Bonner drive who have been residents here for three years. They have four small boys, Michael, 5, Billy, 4, David, 2, and Kenny, 5 months. Francis is an installer and repair man for the telephone company and enjoys bowling ahd hunting. Etta enjoys bowling also and sewing. Both attended Wauconda high school where they met. Retrieving Civil Defense Meeting There will be a civil defense meeting on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m. at the community house. The speaker will be John Shay. Meeting :Xews After the regular business meeting of Women's club last Thursday the women enjoyed a preview of the bazaar things. Later they enjoyed a gab-fest over cake and coffee. A special meeting will be held on Nov. 30 at 8:30 at the community hourse. Scout News Cub Pack 459 of Lakeland Park had a successful Halloween party on Monday, Oct. 30, at the community house. It was such a pleasure to see so many parents with their sons, ^firhosc costumes were really something to see. We saw Santa, bums of various sizes, rbbots, a mummy, dice, T.V. set, one dressed as an accident, a little girl. Oh, it was quite a sight. The judging was done by four wonderful women who answered a last minute call. They were Lydia Radisch, Audrey Elmer, Connie Giaeomo, and Carla Spahr. We were glad we didn't have to pick the winners as it was quite a job Utit the ladies did a wonderful job and seemed to enjoy them • pelves in doing it. " The prettiest costume Went to Bruce Florek who was dressed as a girl complete with a "baby" and curlers in his? hair. Fuhniest award went to a bum who turned out to be Norbert Kwiatek. Most original was Dennis Druml and his T.V. set that actually lit up and played. Each den mother had a game for the boys to play. They were assisted by Den Chiefs, Ray ° Bottari of Den 1 and Dale Davis of Den .. Coffee, doughnuts and cider were served to parents and Cubs. Each boy was given a bag of goodies by the den mothers upon leaving. I think I can be right in stating a great big "Thanks" from the Cubs, the leaders, Cubmaster Ed Druml, Webelo leader Harold Cygan and to those wonderful Den mothers, Esther Cygan, Shirley George, Bette Kamp and Marie Kwiatek. Cub Scouts and parents remember Sunday is your trip to Glenview Naval Air Base. Everyone going should be at the . community house at 11:30 in < the morning. Hope to see you all. Bazaar Results The bazaar which the Women's club held last week Saturday didn't fair out quite well.. What happened to all our good neighbors?? The girls on committee worked so hard to make it a success and were very disappointed on the turnout. We are going to try it again along with a rummage sale. It will be Nov. 17 from 9:30 to 6 p.m. Hope to see more faces from our community this Nov. 17. Sympathy May we extend our deepest sympathy to Helen and Bill Haynes on the recent death of Bill's stepfather, Fred Fiorelli of Downers Grove. Mr. Fiorelli Was killed by a car last Wednesday, Nov. 1, while walking across the street. Snowball Dance The Lakeland Park Women's club will have its sixth annual dance this coming Dec. 2, at the Johnsburg hall. She lay there awhile before she could attract a n y o n e ' s a t t e n t i o n . F i n a l l y Mrs. Viita noticed her and called Mrs. Braumgartner and together they got Elvira to the McHenry hospital where she is now in a cast up to her hip. They got in touch with Jack at work and he rushed home after borrowing his brother's car and enroute to the hospital the car started on fire. Jack was upset and wondered what would happen next. Well, Sunday evening, Jack, Jr., took a spill his bike and bumped his head. So Jack, took Jack, Jr. to McHenry hospital Monday morning where he is suffering from a concussion. Boy, you guys have had your share of bad luck this past week, as they say every thing runs in threes so this should be the end of it.
