Children like this little girl who have lost their own families are helped through contributions to the Christmas Stocking Appeal. This week many local residents will receive the colorful stockings which have meant help for dependent and neglected children in Illinois since 1883. These stockings have been distributed by the Illinois Children's Home and Aid Society, the largest, privately supported, non-sectarian child care organization in the state. This Society has helped rear more than 150,000 youngsters in good foster homes and has supervised the adoption of many thousands more. Contributions to the Christmas Stocking Appeal help pay for Christmas toys and year-round care in foster homes for many children. vm SPECIAL!
