Hostesses for tVe evening will be mothers of sixth grade pupils. of of Honor Former City Postmaster Twenty-seven employees the McHenry post office honored James Hettermann, former postmaster, at a party held in Johnsburg last Wednesday evening. Also present were former Postmaster Ray McGee and the present postmaster. LeRoy Smith. At the conclusion of a most enjoyable and memorable evening, the employees, who were hosts for the party, presented Mr. Hettermann with a gift in appreciation for his two years of service to the postal department in McHenry. In return, M r . H e t t e r m a n n p r e s e n t e d each man with a comical and a p p r o p r i a t e r e m e m b r a n c e which was reminiscent of some p a r t i c u l a r e x p e r i e n c e w h i c h will long be remembered by the individual employee and by Mr.< Hettermann. The party gave evidence of the esteem in which the guest of honor was held by his fellow employees, and also served to welcome the new postmaster. With the royal blue velvet, LaVerne wore a winter white satin hat with fingertip veil, elbow length white gloves, a silver blue mink stole and a white orchid. Mrs. Robert Loesch, sister of the bridegroom, attended Mrs. Linderman as matron of honor and was appropriately gowned in a green brocade street length sheath. Her accessories were brown and flowers were yellow roses. The groom's brother-in-law, Robert Loesch, served in the capacity of best man. For her son's wedding, Mrs. Kantorski looked lovely in rose beige lace, brown accessories, with an orchid corsage which complemented her snowy white hair. A wedding dinner for invited guests was held at the Blue Hills Black Angus restaurant in Kansas City and open house at the couple's apartment-- 4761 N. Highland, Kansas City, was held after 4 p.m. The honeymoon journey will be postponed until Mr. Kantorski can take time away from the job as office and warehouse manager of the Kansas City branch of the Complete-Reading Electric Co., Inc., of Chicago, Members of the bride's family who journeyed to Kansas City for the auspicious occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Krugman of Elyria, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. Phil Scherer of Medina, Ohio. The women are the bride's sisters. The groom's family was well represented by his nephew, Ken Loesch, and brother, Chester Kantorski, of Chicago, in addition to those already named. A lovely post-holiday/ wedding was solemnized in St.. Mary's Episcopal church, Park Ridge, 111., on Saturday evening, Nov. 25, when Miss Nancy Lee Voorhies, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Voorhies o; 2505 N. Villa Lane, McHenry. became the bride of Mr. William Stone Dale, Jr., son of the senior William S. Dales o; Sunny Slope Farm, Rt. 1. Lexington, Ky. Rev. John J. Russell officiated at the 8 o'clock nuptial service. Soloist for the ceronhony was Gene Paulcech of Berwyn, who *ang "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer". The church was attractively decorated with candles and standing candelabras on the altar and white satin ribbons lining the pews The pretty, young bride approached the altar, charming in a white satin gown with chantiUy lace bodice, long satin sleeves and cathedral length train. A crystal tiara held in place a three-tier fingertip illusion veil, and siie carried a white prayer book with small bouquet. Acting as matron of honor was Mrs. John Kinnaw of Grayslake, and bridesmaids were Miss Judy Schroeder of Elmwood Park, Miss Mary Koll of Park Ridge, Miss Karen Antonson of McHenry and Miss Carol Petersen of Park Ridge. Mrs. Kinnaw was attired in i gold satin sheath with overskirt, with which she wore elbow length off-white gloves and a heaedpiece ol wheat and flowers. She carried a bouquet of fall flowers. The bridesmaids were attired in emerald green satin sheaths with over-skirts, also of Satin, elbow length, offwhite gloves and headpieces of wheat and flowers. Her bouquet, too, was of fall flowers. LeRoy Land Dale of Lexington, Ky., served his brother as best man and groomsmen were the bride's brother, Bruce Bohnslaw, of McHenry, her brother-in-law, James R. Rech, of Park Ridge, the groom's cousin, Thomas Wood, of Lexington, Ky., and Jack Paskins of Albany, New York. The bride's mother selected a rose red sheath ensemble with gold accessories, a Russian sabe stole and a white and rose orchid. About 250 guests enjoyed a reception following the ceremony, and later the couple left on a trip to Florida, where they met when she was 12 and he was 17 years old and their families were vacationing in the South. They will make their home at Sunny Side Farm in Lexington. Mr. Dale is a graduate ol Kentucky Military Institute a n d T r a n s y l v a n i a c o l l e g e , where he was a member of Kappa Alpha. The former Miss Voorhies attended the University of Hawaii and the American Conservatory of Music. She was a member of Alpha Phi and Sigma Alpha Iota, a musical honorary. TERRENCE BRADY NAMED TO COLLEGE HONOR FRATERNITY Use The Classifieds The St. Thomas Alpha Sigma chapter of the national honorary fraternity Delta Epsilon Sigma inducted 27 new members into the society at a dinner meeting Nov. 20. Students may be admitted to the honor society in either their junior or senior years. To enter as a junior, a student must hold a 3.40 honor-point average. Senior entrants must have a 3.25 average to qualify. Terrence Brady of Lakemoor, a junior, was among those inducted. Another proven way to lose control of your car is to forget the payments. MARIE HAYS MARRIED TO MR. JOHN HAY - A wedding of local interest was solemnized Wednesday, Nov. 22, at St. Mary's Catholic church at 9 o'clock in the morning, uniting in marriage Mrs. Marie Hays and John Hay of McHenry. Rev. Fr. Eugene Baumhofer officiated at the service. Attending the couple .were the bride's daughter, Mrk Harvey Schaefer, and Arnold Hay of Woodstock, son of the groom. Mrs. Hays was attired in a royal blue brocade dress with white fur pillbox hat, matching royal blue accessories and a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Schaefer wore a pleated green wool dress, black accessories and a white carnation corsage. A reception followed at 6 o'clock in the evening at the Legion home for approximately fifty close friends and relatives, with a buffet supper Mark-Hoffman Nuptial Vows The First Methodist church in Sioux City, Iowa, "was the setting for a beautiful wedding on Saturday evening, Nov. 25. when Miss Patricia Rose Mark exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. Richard Otto Hoffman. The bride isf the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter R. Mark o f 3 2 3 7 L i n d e n w o o d , S i o u x City, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold S. Hoffman of Lookout Point, No. 2, Wonder Lake. Rev. Charles E. Mason officiated at the 7:30 o'clock service, for which the ter also played the trumpet for the pre-processional music. Bouquets of white mums, with a touch of pink, and candles decorated the church. The attractive bride was radiant in a gown of delustered satin, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline with pearls and iridescent sequins. The beli skirt was caught up in back with three self-material roses. Her fingertip tulle veil fell from a pearl tiara. Attending the bride were Barbara Thorpe of Sioux City and Alycia Hughes of Primghar, Iowa, friends of the bride, and Joan Lowery of Sioux City, cousin of the bride, who was maid of honor. They were attired similarly in cotillion length dresses of peacock blue silk organza over matching nylon net and taffeta skirts. Softly draped matching satin cummerbunds centered with three dimensional roses topped the full skirts encircled with appliqued satin detail. With them they wore matching headpieces. The flower girl, 5-year-old Mary Pratt of Sioux City, wore a blue organdy dress. Roland Hoffman of Wonder Lake, brother of the groom, s e r v e d a s b e s t m a n a n d groomsmen were Joseph Redman of DesMoines, Iowa, and Alien Henn of Terell, Iowa, both friends of the groom. Mrs. Mark chose for her daughter's wedding a grey dressmaker's suit and rose accessories. Mrs. Hoffman wore a royal blue dress and hat, with plastic accessories. Following the ceremony, 150 guests gathered in the church parlors for a reception. The couple left later on a short trip to Omaha, and will make their home in Ames, Iowa, where they are completing their studies at Iowa State university. The bride is a senior in home economics education and the groom is a junior in industrial engineering. Mr. Hoffman is a graduate of the McHenry high school with the class of 1958. His fiance graduated in 1959 from Central high school in Sioux City. Open house was held at the home of the bride's parents Friday evening, Nov. 24, so that her friends might have an opportunity to meet Mr. Hoffman. Roy Kissling family Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Community Methodist church social hall in, a ".Journey Inlo Christmas". The program will be varied, with solos, duets, •quartets, appropriate readings and some audience participation. Mr. and Mrs. Kissling are graduates of Heidelberg college, Tiffin, Ohio, where Mrs. Kissling received her degree in music, majoring in voice and choral music. Mr. Kissling also studied voice and has sung in many choral groups including the First National Bank chorus and ordnance chorus. Mrs. Kissling has also enjoyed similar participation, given voice lessons, directed children and adult choirs and at present is choir director at Faith Presbyterian c h u r t h. Becky Kissling, who is in eighth grade, and Bert Kissling, a junior in high school will join their parents to entertain and delight all with a "Journey Into Christma s". They will be accompanied -by Mrs. Frank Ewert of Crystal Lake, organist at Faith Presbyterian church. Again this year the McHenry Woman's club will join the Community Welfare scrvice in helping needy families in our area. All are asked to bring good, clean clothing, toys and canned fruits and vegetables. Also, small Christmas wrapped gifts for men and women to be sent to Valley View. Mrs. A. J.
