Pag* Five COURT BRIEFS Justice of the Peace Charles M. Adams heard a number of cases when court convened last Saturday. . Fred F. Bykowski of McHenry was fined $87 for reckless driving. _ Craig Adams of McHenry was fined $25 for not having ^driver's license. Thomas F. Peterson of Woodstock paid a $20 fine for jfi-iwinp with loud mufflers. .Roger L. Leaf of Round Lake was charged with driving with an expired safety sticker on his truck and fined $6. ^^ilelvin G. In conservation violations, Joseph Flashing of Chicago paid a $30 fine for hunting on a controlled area without permission. Rosie Mae Long of Freeport was fined $20 for driving without a license or permit when she appeared in the police magistrate court of Donald Howard fhis past week. _Roy T. Walinder spent the Thanksgiving holidays in the home of their daughter, Mrs. Robert Belzer, and family in Rockford. Mrs. Betty Nielsen and Miss Clara Miller spent a few days; recently as the guest of Miss Marie Ropp in Bloomington. Miss Ropp is a former local kindergarten teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Baldwin and Mr. and Mrs. Carold Carlson of Rockford were Sunday visitors in the home of their aunt, Mrs. Nellie Bacon. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thompson and Miss Maude Granger were Thanksgiving guests in the home of the former's nephew, Everett Thompson, and family in Western Springs. Mrs. Elvera Durland; of Detroit, Mich., spent the Thanksgiving holidays with McHenry 'relatives and friends. Miss Genevieve Knox ate turkey in the home- of her nephew. Dr. Delbert Whiting, in South Elgin Thursday. Mrs. Carl Lobitz, Mrs. Herman Berkley, Mrs. E. B. Ward, Mrs. Anna Cohhs, Mrs. Ann Bauries, Mrs. Fred Bienapfl and Mrs. Booster of the Lutheran Child Welfare auxiliary visited Luther Brook, at Addison, Tuesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Mitchell of Waukegan were Sunday visitors in the Bob Bacon home. Dr. and Mrs. Henry Freund were Thanksgiving guests in the home of their daughter, Mrs. Ernestine Christian, and daughter, Karen, in Glen Ellyn. Clare Whiting of Washington, D. C. was a guest in the home of his aunt, Miss Genevieve Knox, a few days the last of the week. Luncheon guests on Saturday were Mrs. Lloyd Whiting, daughter, Janice, of Elgin, and Mrs. Deibert Whiting and daughter, Narcy, of South Elgin. Dinner guests in the George H. - Johnson home on Thanksgiving Day were Mr. and Mrs. O. G. -Eder of Evanston, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Johnson and children of Skokie, Mrs. Erie Geer of Crystal Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson ,of McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Blake and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Blake returned Sunday trom a visit with the latter's three daughters afid their families in Fort Jennings, Glendorf and Delphos, Ohio. While there they made the acquaintance of Marcia Kay, granddaughter of the Leo Blakes, born to Mr. and Mrs. William German of Delphos recently. HAIRDRESSERS MEET There will be a meeting Dec. 6 of the Illinois Hairdressers and Cosmetologists, Unit 47, at Campbell's Hearthstone restaurant, Quinton and 11th streets, Palatine. There will be a short business meeting, with officers giving a style program and Christmas program to follow. TWO ANNOUNCE CANDIDACIES IN 12TH DISTHICT WATER MAIN BREAKS A broken water main on Main street left the family of Rev. George Martin without water on Monday and part of Tuesday. City employees had the damage repaired before noon, however, and traffic returned to normal in that block. The "new re-districting in Illinois, which Illinois lawmakers finally agreed upon in the final hours before the Thanksgiving holiday, puts McHenry into the 12th congressional district which also includes Lake and Boone counties. McHenry was formerly in the 14th district. The three counties also make up the 32nd senatorial district and Lake and McHenry are included in the 19th judicial distinct. / The re-mapping of the state brought about two announcements which will be of interest to voters. State Sfenator Robert McClory of Lake Bluff was a visitor in the Plaindealer office on Monday, at which time he announced that he will be a candidate for the Republican nomination for congressman in the newly established district. He has represented this same territory in the Illinois General Assembly for the last twelve years. Tuesday afternoon, Robert Coulson also stopped in the newspaper office to announce his candidacy for the same office. He is a former mayor of Waukegan and served three terms as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives.
