Make no mistake about it. the Warriors did battle their hearts out trying to salvage the game, but ran into a Crystal Lake team that was hot on shots in addition to displaying a flashy floor game. When the victors came back to start the second half, it appeared they had lost their edge. They did lose a 4 point margin as McHenry outscored them 15 -10 in the third period to take a 47-46 lead. Crystal Lake's coach inserted a couple of tall boys to start the second half, but soon switched back to their smaller speedsters who. seemed to be in the right spot at the right time. The Warriors outscored Crystal Lake 23-21 from the floor, but lost the margin at the free throw line where the winners picked up 21 points on McHenry's 28 fouls. Losing Freund, Petersen and May on personal fouls did the Warrior cause no good. A Palatine five, fresh from a 71-61 victory over Dundee, will come to McHenry on Friday night of this week. Local followers hope the home floor environ will put the Warriors on the victory track.
