O.S.F., will speak at the evening meeting of the St. Patrick's Mother's club which will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 in the church hall. Husbands are invited. A question and answer session will follow the meeting. Harrison PTA To Name "Citizen X" Who is "Citizen X?" That's the big question being asked throughout the com m u n i t y, now that word is out. The Harrison Parent-Teacher association, after weeks of planning, will name the person to be honored at its next meeting Feb. 13, 8 p.m., at Harrison school. No clues are being offered. When PTA officers are asked the identity, their only comment is, "It Could Be You". The entile community is invited to attend the presentation program, when "Citizen X" is cited for outstanding achievement. Honor Joan Murphy At Pink-Blue Shower Mrs. Joan Murphy, who is residing with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weber, while her husband is serving out of this country, was honored at a pink and1 blue shower held recently at the home of her sister, Mrs. Jean Neumann, of Sunnyside. The couple will be married Aug. 4. Open House For Alfred Tonyans Mr. and Mrs1. Alfred Tonyan extend an invitation to their friends to attend an open house in honor of their silver wedding anniversary, Feb. 11, at the American Legion home at 7 p.m. Card Party Will Benefit Library On Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 12:30 p.m. at the V.F.W. clubhouse, the McHenry Woman's club will give a card party for the benefit of the McHenry library. Dessert luncheon will be served. The club has always been interested in the progress of the library and was one of its early sponsors. One of the past presidents, Mrs. C. W. Goodell, devoted much of her time to developing interest in it and gave many hours of volunteer work. The Woman's club feels that with the rapid community growth, it is necessary for the library to keep pace. For this reason the club urges everyone to attend since the entire proceeds go to the library. A very festive party is planned, with fine prizes. Members are asked to bring card tables and cards to the clubhouse early so that the party may begin at the scheduled time. Frisa-Schmitt Vows Exchanged January 31 A wedding of interest was solemnized in St. Mary's Catholic church at 10 o'clock last Wednesday morning, Jan. 31, when Rose T. Frisa of Flanders road, McHenry, exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. John N. Schmitt. The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Welter. A wedding dinner was served after the wedding in Crystal Lake. Following a trip through the West, the couple will reside at 5005 W. Flanders road. James Mahal Will Wed Mundelein Girl Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Basgall of Mundelein announce t h e e n g a g e m e n t o f t h e i r daughter, Maxine, to James Mahal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Mahal of Wonder Lake. ON HONOR ROLL Roger Swanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald F. Swanson, 1013 N. Cherry Valley road, McHenry, is on the honor roll at David Lipscomb college, Nashville, Tenn., for the first quarter. The honor roll includes the upper 10 per cent of the student body in scholarship, representing at least a "B" average. Randy Grepling of Springfield was the ringbearer. For her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Skidmore chose an aqua silk shantung sheath dress with matching jacket and slippers. Her hat was of winter white and she wore a corsage of white amazon lilies. The groom's mother was lovely in a coffee color silk shantung sheath and jacket, with beige accessories, and she. too, wore a corsage of white amazon lilies. The many guests which filled the V.F.W. hall for the 5:30 p.m. reception, to overflowing, were from the McHenry area, Wisconsin, Chicago, Springfield, Glen Ellyn and Elmhurst. The appropriately decorated wedding cake consisted of offset square layers and was cut by the bride's cousin, Nancy Bowman. Another cousin, Miss Kathy Senkerik, passed the guest book. For her honeymoon journey, which wasfi kept a secret, the new Mrs. Creutz selected a brown plaid wool suit with matching accessories. Upon their return, the bridal couple will establish residence at 207 N. Main street, Crystal Lake. The former Miss Skidmore is an alumna of McHenry high school, class of '59, went on to graduate from Moser business school in Chicago and is currently employed as a secretary at the Oak Mfg. Co., Crystal Lake. Those students in the seventh and eighth grades, who maintain an average of A will be eligible for membership., Sirth graders will be cohsidered for associate membership. Sixth graders will be conmembership in the seventh grade if they continue to receive high grades. The project has been adopted by the Community P.T.A. For a reward, the young boys and girls can look forward to one cultural event per marking period, such as some type of field trip. Research for this project was carried out by James Doran, with assistance from Miss Rose Parsley, John Armstrong and Miss Judy Sandke. The program will be started as of this marking period. Between 15Q and 175 people attended the last meeting 0 the Community P.T.A. to hear Dr. Peter Griesbach as he spoke about mental health in the school age child. An excellent film entitled "Angry Child" was also shown, with a question and answer session following, moderated by Bill Andrews, president of the organization and answers forthcoming from Dr. Griesbach.
