Pellicore, associate professor of Orthopedics. University of Illinois, will address the McHenry County Medical society on March 15, at their regular monthly meeting at the Memorial Hospital for McHenry County. Following the 7 p.m. dinner, Dr. Pellicore will speak on "The Problem of the Limping Child." HERE AND THERE IN BUSINESS NAMED TO COUNCIL Claude F. McDermott of 415 Tia Juana drive, McHenry, has become a merrfber of the citizen's committee of the Illinois Council for Branch Banking, it was announced this week by James C. Downs, Jr., Council chairman. Community leaders from all parts of Illinois who are concerned with the economic development of the state have become members of the citizen's committee of the Council. The hoii-pitsfit organization is dedicated to the enactment in the state legislatux-e of measures to modernize the banking structure of Illinois by permitting all banks to establish branches within a fifteenmile area of their home community. Such a measure, to become a law, would require approval by the citizens of the state in a referendum. control, and Roy G. Darnell has been selected as foreman of the new Modine Manufacturing Co. plant at McHenry, it was announced by A. L. Knox, plant manager. Hawes was graduated in business administration from the Spencerian college, Milwaukee, Wis. He then served as office manager of a company in Racine before joining Modine. A graduate of Memphis State college, Memphis, Tenn., Darnell began his employment with Modine in Paducah and became a foreman at that plant prior to his transfer to McHenry. GIRL SCOUT OFFICERS^ At a meeting of Girl Scout Troop 464, Kathy LaFontaine was elected president; Nancy Burg, vice-president; Sandra Zahn, secretary; and Mary Larkin, treasurer. COURT BRIEFS In the court of Justice ol the Peace Charles M. Adams last Saturday, Rufus Heathscott of Fox River Grove was fined $15 for*- speeding. The same charges brought $10 fines for Glen R. Reid of McHenry and Albert H. Klabunde of Woodstock. Dennis May of Wonder Lake received a $6 fine for driving too fast for conditions. Robert A. Levand of Lakemoor charged with disobeying a stop sign and a $10 fine was imposed. Reckless driving was another charge against Levand, who paid $25 on this count. Joseph C. Whalen of Prairie View. 111., was fined , $105 for feckless driving when he ap- •ared in the police magistrate court of Donald Howard last Thursday evening. ewA OBITUARIES HELEN P. BISBEE Mrs. Helen P. Bisbee, former operator of the Shangra-La Home for the Aged on Idyll Dell road, south of McHenry, died Tuesday. March 13, in St. Therese hospital, Waukegan, where she had been a patient for only eight days. She was 60 years of age. She was born Christmas Day. 1901, in Chicago. During the past year, she had sold her business and retired to live at West Shore Beach. Prior to operating the home here, she resided in Wonder Lake. Surviving are her husband. Allen B. Bisbee; a daughter. Virginia Ciesil. of Wauconda; two sons, Allen R. of Markham and James K. of Los Angeles, Calif.; thirteen grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Polek of Chicago and Ted Polek of Fort Smith, Ark. The rosary will be said at the George R. Justen funeral home at 8 o'clock this (Thursday) evening. A funeral Mass will be sung at 10 o'clock Friday morning in Christ the King Catholic church. March 12, in St. Luke- Presbyterian hospital, Chicago. Her htisband died in July of 1936. She leaves two sons, Herbert of Easton, Pa., and Otto of Woodstock. Permission was also given to rent the Lily Lake school building to the First Baptist church to hold daily vacation Bible school Aug. 5 through 12. DAY OF RECOLLECTION The McHenry Deanery Council of Catholic Women will sponsor a Day of Recollection at St. Mary's, Woodstock, on Sunday. April 1, from 2 to 5 p.m. Rev. Leo Lambert of Elkhorn, Wis., will condud the conferences to which all Catholic women and their guests of McHenry county are invited. A nominal voluntary offering will be accepted at the time of registration which will begin at 1:15 p.m. SET SALES RECORD Increases in use of electricity by all major classes of customers enabled Commonwealth Edison company to set a new sales record in 1961, according to the annual report issued today. The report, signed by J. Harris Ward, chairman, and Willis Gale, chairman of the executive committee, showed that sales exceeded 23 billion kilowatt-hours for the first time and were 5.3 per cent above the .total for I960.
