That's the home of DeWittiand Muriel Rapp. The Rapps nave been residents of our community for the past five years. They were neighbors on the South side of Chicago and will be married 26 years in September. Mr. Rapp's occupation is in the experimential laboratory at a concern in Skokie. He loves gardening, and if you see his yard in the summer you will see the very beautiful results of his hobby. Making bird houses and other things also keep him busy. Mrs. Rapp loves to bake, especially fancyhigh calorie goodies. Decorating cakes is her specialty. One son, Richard, and his wife, the former Erna Roekel and a darling 3 month jpld grandson, Michael Jay, complete this fine family. Their son and family reside in. McHenry. More News Bits Leo and Lillian Orlowski were saddened -to receive the news of their life long friend's death April 15. Gertie Alberts and the Orlowskis grew up together and have remained friends all these years. Gertie had just been a weekend guest of the Orlowskis two weeks ago. She suffered a stroke last Wednesday and died Sunday and was hurried in Saint Adelbert's cemetery Wednesday, April 18. The Orlowskis will miss her very much. April 15, the senior Mr. Cunningham was rushed to. the McHenry hospital in an ambulance after suffering a heiart attack. Cathy Weber underwent surgery at Victory hospital in Waukegan April 17. Cathy has had more than her share of troubles this past year, broken foot, finger, accidents and operations. We hope this will be the end and things will be better for her in the future. Teena O'Malley, Carol Petherick, Catherine Sielisch and Carol's sister, Mary Johnson of Waukegan, spent the day shopping in Waukegan April 10. The girls enjoyed having lunch and came home broke ana tired. Bruce a n d Carol Petherick are busy getting settled in their home at 5309 N. Lake street. They moved in April 14 and have been busy unpacking. We wish to welcome ihem to the Highlands, they are both very friendly folks. 58 of the 86 members of the Woman's cjub will ^njoy the annual dinner. All reservations were in April 16, thanks to the women who handled them so capably. The officers are busy getting things ready for the big dinner and election of new officers. Watch for all details next week. Joe and Elizabeth Hanisch drove in to Chicago last Saturday to fjick up Joe's parents so they could spend the Easter weekend with them. Their son, George, enjoyed his Easter very much having received Raster goodies from his granduarents in Germany and America. The Richard Sablienys spent several flays in Wisconsin last week visiting parents, relatives and friends. Dick enjoyed a week's vacation and the kiddies enjoyed having Easter with their grandparents. FRANK DOBLER Mrs. Frank (Anna) Dobler, 80, of Minong, Wis., died April 16 at Shell Lake. Wis., following a long illness. She was a sister of Paul Yanda of McHenry. Funeral services were held in Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic church, with burial in Minong. Mrs. Dobler was born Aug. 30, 1881, in Austria and was a resident of the United States for 50 years. She is survived by her husband, Frank, and another brother, Frank Yanda of Cloqiiet, Minn. THOMAS J. MARTIN' A former McHenry resident, Thomas J. Martin, 61, 353 Sheridan road, Waukegan, died April 17 in Kenosha hospital, Kenosha, Wis. During his residency in this area, Mr. Martin lived in West Shore Beach and was employed by the Robins Fish Wholesale Co. of Chicago. He was a member of the Meat Cutters Union of Local 55 of Chicago. He was born Dec. 10, 1900, in New York City. Funeral services were held the last of the week in Waukegan with burial in Gfeen Ridge cemetery. Survivors include his widow,- Edith Morris Martin; three daughters, five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
