As directed by law, the rate of the marketing quota penalty is 65 I>ercent of the May 1, 1962, parity price of $2.44. Growers approved marketins quotas for the 1962 crop wheat on Aug. 24, 1961. Therefore. a farmer who does net comply with the wheat acreage' allotment or marketing quota exemption acreage established for his farm is subject to a penalty on his farm marketing excess, unless he has signed an agreement permitting him to produce up to 30 acres of wheat for feed use on the farm. For 1962, only those producers who are participating in the 1962 wheat stabilization program, and who have complied with their allotment, will be eligible for price support. County Purchases Of Bonds Total $82,944 McHenry county residents purchased a total of $89,944, in series E and H United States savings*»bonds in April, according to Harold J. Bacon, Crystal Lake, general county chairman of the Savings Bonds committee: Sales in the state of Illinois totaled $26,225,246, and were 11.8 per cent below last year's total for the month according to Arnold J. Rauen, state director of the Treasury's Saving Bonds division. Illinois sales represented 7.5 per cent of the national total which was $349,000,000.
