Page Fourteen THE McHEN&Y PLAINDEALEH A ursday, July 12,1962 Sunnyside Estates SIGHT SEEING TRIP ENJOYED BY BROWNIES (loan Walczynsld - S85-S105 Brownie Troop 150 enjoyed its annual outing this year on June 26. Seventeen girls and as many mothers and little tikes attended from this troop and the remainder of the forty- seven that took the trip were comprised of Troop 267 and the troop from Lilymoor- Lakemoor. They left at eight in the morning and returned, tired but happy, at five in the afternoon. The day in between was mighty full starting with a trip to? the Historical Society Museum,, then on to Lincoln Park where they enjoyed their lunch, and, the troop having been broken down into smaller groups with a mother in charge of each, from there they went their own way at their own pace through the zoo. They again boarded the bus and made the trip to Chinatown where the many shops and Sights held the girls in awed fascination. Having spent their allotted amount for souvenirs and all their energy the^ returned to the bus for the" ride home. They sang during the entire ride both going and coming, so they naturally were hoarse besides. Leader Alice Bieschke deserves a pat on the back for the fin e. outing planned for the girls.1 Gracious Lad}7 I would like to take a moment here to make mention of the fa&t that Dolores Gerstein has graciously offered to take our column into town for me to meet the deadline. I was somewhat at a loss as to what I could do since Stan was working days and I have no car, and I didn't want to have to ask anyone to make a special trip. So, since Dolores works in town she offered to do it for me on her way to work. Grandpa take - them out lor walks in this lovely country air. Some friends of ours, Mr. and Mrs. John Stuhlman of Chicago, are spending part of their vacation in Lilymoor and we were guests last Sunday. We hope to reciprocate this w e e k e n d . On t h e F o u r t h , Stan's mother, Aneila Walczynski, and his sister, Aida Zmudzki, and her two daughters, Sue and Peg, came out to spend the holiday with us. My folks came up, too, and we had fun, with Stan presiding over the grill. On July 5, Millie Kropf's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Becvar of Chicago, came out to spend the day. Overslte Due to an early deadline last week and my feeble brain I overlooked telling about a little girl's trip to the circus. I guess wc all remember our first circus; at least I know I do. Well, Pam DeFrancisco and her folks, Marge and Louie, enjoyed their evening at the circus at the international amphitheater. Marge says they have seen these smaller ones, but this was the real thing; three rings, elephants, high wire acts, the works! Needless to say, Pam couldn't get over it. Evening Out Maybe an evening out visiting friends and neighbors for a game of pinochle isn't news to most of you. but it was to Stan and me. It had been so long since we had the evenings together that it was a real treat. We were the guests of Catherine and Richard Dehn at her father's home in Johnsburg. Of course, this way we had the pleasure of the company of her father and brother (Biil and Richard May), as well. In exchange, Carol Ann Dehn got to come here and spend the night with our Judy. I thought sure they'd be sick from the conglomeration they ate. but I forgot that when you're young, anything goes. Anyhow, everyone had a good time. Visitors Pat Spindler has had the company of her grandson, Mark Spindler, for a week. And on the Fourth of July her nephew and his family came out to spend the day. Alice Bieschke has had her g o d c h i l d , B o b b y U n g a r o , spending some time with her. He's just two, so he and Tammy have a real ball. I see that the Johansens have their grandchildren out for a visit. Grandma and Real Hospitality "Shirley and Mel Simmons had the chance to have their floors ' finished but didn't know just how they would manage, so Jean and Harvey Garber suggested they spend the three or four days it would take with them. Shirley says their hospitality was gracious beyond words. Lakeland Park HOLD LPPOA GENERAL MEETING SUNDAY. On July 15 Ray Bieschke chalks up his ? ?? year and the sixteenth is the big day for Cindy Tyler who is four years old this year. Many happy returns of the day to one and all, and many, many more to follow. Afraid Cupid is still resting, cause there are no anniversaries to report. Signing Off That wraps it up for thii week and then just one more and "Wheee, vacation!!!" Had a problem there for a while. Couldn't get anyone to take the column over for those two weeks, but wouldn't you know that when I did it would be someone like Marge Palmer, with a little baby and always a gang around her place, etc. They don't hardly make them lhat way no more. Well, sweet gal that she is, Marge has said she will do it for me, so if you have any news the weeks of July 16 and 23, please call her at 385-1680. And since she has been nice enough to offer how about all of you making it easy for her by calling her with vour news. All Of it. Do you realize that if even one-quarter of all our residents called once each week, what a lengthy column we would have. Many thanks to all of you. 'Bye now!
