Riverside Drive was pleasantly surprised on his birthday Sept. 11, when he received a long distance call from his son, Dick, from San Diego, Calif., while Mr. Schafer was having dinner with his wife, Marcella, and daughters, Diane a n 4 Joyce, and son-in-law, William Frett. Dick has just returned to his naval base in California. He had been stationed previously in Long Beach, where his parents and sisters visited him in July. He was later transferred to Boston, Mass., aboard a guided missile Destroyer which left Boston for a cruise to Flor* ida, Cuba, South America, Panama Canal and Acapulco, Mexico, returning to San Diego.
