Surprise Party You should have seen the look oft A1 Fritz's face when about fifteen relatives and friends walked in Saturday flight an^surprised him for his 'birthday. A1 had no idea of this party. All the refreshments were brought by the guests. Hot beef, salads, cold drinks, and a birthday cake with (WoW)? candles on it. After polishing off the refreshments, the guests settled down for a fun filled evening that lasted to the wee hours of the morning. * Wedding Reception Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sallaz attended the wedding of their cousin, James Swiatek, in Chicago on Saturday. Going along was Lavonne's mother, Mrs. Zelda Malochleb, and their throe children. Reception was held at the Harmony Hall in Chicago. House Warming A surprise house warming party was given in honor of Don and Cam Gaylord. About ten couples got together and brought food and drinks Saturday night. Entertainment was furnished by one of the gang. singing and playing the electric guitar. Meeting Well Attended St. John's Home and School association had its first meeting of the new year, with ninety people present. A big hand was given to Joan Walczynski - for the good job she did with the milk program. Celebrate Two Birthdays Guests at the home of Rich and Pat Jahlonski Saturday ^Were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene •Sehuman and sons. What was to be a ^dinner date, ended up to bo a party for Dick who turned eight and for one of the Schuman boys. Visitors and Visiting Guests at the home of the s e n i o r H a r r i n g t o n s S u n d a y were son. Bill, wife. Mary, and their two daughters. Linda Lou and Dolly, from Chicago. ^ The Metzger family drove to Chicago' Sunday to -help celebrate their godchild, Mkrgriret Bradatscli's eighth birthday. Going along with them was Tante Helen. The Martin family enjoyed Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. Milbrandt of Crystal Lake. The Gunthers had their son, ^ Bill, his wife, Joyce, and their children, Denise and Laura, for dinner on Sunday. Later Staney and Mae Wujs of Chicago came for the afternoon. J Clara and Ray Harrington and children visited with their niece and nephew Sunday. They wore shown movies of the Seattle World's Fair and some of our northwestern states. It was also Clara's birthday and on their return homo wore invited over to the senior Harringtons for cake and ice cream. The Cammaratas visited with their daughter. Judy, and Mr. and Mrs. R. Naso in their homo Sunday. Sunday night guests at the homo of Ed and Gertrude Lehman were Mr. and Mrs. G 7k Block and children from Pell Lake, Wis. Tante Helen from Waukegan has been spending a few days with Joe and Elizabeth Metzger. Cystie Fibrosis Fund Chris Williams announced that the village residents were very generous in the recenl ^ Cystic Fibrosis drive. Birthday Party Joining in to help Chuckie Fritz celebrate his thirteenth birthday Wednesday were John Todd, Steve Williams, Richie Fredricks and Jimmy Cios. After cake and ice cream, the boys decided they would rather have a football game with Chuckie's new ball, than to play games indoors. Sick List Little Gregory Sallaz was home from school for a few days with the stomach flu. Get well wishes to Walter Casey who is home recuperating from surgery. PISTAKEC TERRACE Joyce Toepper 385-3044 Auxiliary Meeting The Pistakee Terrace Women's auxiliary meets Thursday, Oct. 11, 8 p.mM at Lorretta Kern's home on Circle drive. Brownie News Troop 150 added three new members last Tuesday. They are Marguerite Brennan, Julie Oeffling and Pam Pechous. Their meeting included the usual lessons along with a short hike to learn trail signs. Cookie hostess was Mary Beth Williams with Denise Boeger as server. Any mothers of Fly-ups who would like to dispose of the Brownie uniform should call new leader Irene Seliga at 385- 5645. Oklahoma Bound Val and Marcia Patula and Ricky of Antioch, former Terrace residents, left Oct. 1 for Tulsa, Okla. They have been visiting as many friends in this area as possible before moving. When Marcia and Ricky spent Wednesday at the home of Grace Gavin former neighbors dropped in for afternoon coffee to wish them well. Among the guests were Cindy and Linda Kettner, Anna Jean and Steven Erickson, Jeyce, Lance and Lorin Toepper, Bernice Froehlig, and Grace, Joy and Judy Vyduna. Cub Scouts Den 4, Pack 452, met for the first time at the home of Joan Stull with six boys, all beginners. They spent time learning the promise and pledge as well as discussing the year's many projects. Cookie host was Scottie Stull. All October meetings will be at the home of Marilyn Wiggerman. Here and There The Calvin Vydunas entertained at a birthdby dinner Wednesday for honored guest, M a r g e P e t e r s o n , h u s b a n d , Pete, and children of Johnsburg and Mrs. Minnie Bertram of Naperville. . After eleven years in the U. S. Air Force, Ronnie Walters, son pf Eola Hillman, is presently teaching high school chemistry at Sumter, S. q. He has been accepted into the civil service to teach electronics at the Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss., and is only waiting for the word before moving to the base. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Erickson and boys attended a party honoring the baptism of their nephew, Jimmy Blomgren, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bloingren, at the home of the Blomgren, seniors, in Chicago Sunday. Weekend guests a the Rabb home were her brother and wife, Virginia and Ted Mastell, of Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. C. Vyduna attended the silver wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Busch in Fox Lake Saturday evening. Joyce, Lance and Lorin Toepper accompanied her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Nelson of Salem, Wis., to a family reunion at the Madison, Wis., home of the Glenn Nelsons Sunday. Guests were in attendance from LaCrosse and Fort Atkinson, Wis., some of whom had not been together for twenty-five years. Thursday evening dinner guests in the Vyduna home were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fox and children of Roselle. Journeying by boat to Fox River Park near Wilmot, Wis., on Sunday w ere Jean and Joe Benoche, Jeannie and Susan, Louis and Betsy Perschke, and t w o s i s t e r s - i n - l a w V o f t h e Perschkes from Lake Bluff.
