You may take all these activities in your stride but the readers love to hear about them so why not give me a call and help us get a good interesting ^column going. These Little Leaguers have had a busy season --playing ball, finishing this season and preparing for next year. This dance of course is to help them out next season --so go out and have a good time and do a good deed at the same time. In finishing up the past season, the Little Leaguers and their families all gathered together at the home of Alice and Carl Forthman oh Holiday Drive, Sunday, Sept. 23, for a picnic. Approximately eighty people were there -- all having a good time. The boys and their fathers did something different - they played ball. On Wednesday, Sept. 26, the Lions Club of Island Lake held a banquet to honor the first place team and present them with trophies. Boys from Holiday Hills who received trophies are: Mike Kroeger, Steve Salter, John Connell, Joe Luna, Charles Forthman and bat boy, Billy Forthman. Jack Connell coached the team and Carl Forlhman was the team manager. Aren't you proud of these boys!?! Road Lifted Two of the roads here in Holiday Hills have recently had some "Road Lifting" done. You've heard of face lifting? Almost the same thing. The families living on Lilac from Sunset drive to Birch street and all those living on Birch pooled their money and came up with a nice road. Another owner. All residents are invited whether renters or property owners so that we may get acquainted with all of our example of what community cooperation can bring about. Accident Linda Exline received a cut on the face as a result of innocent play down at the bus stop on Holiday drive and Hickory. A group of youngsters just passing time while waiting for the school bus were throwing hickory nuts and stones. Unfortunately, one of the hickory nuts struck Linda resulting in a minor cut. This however might have been quite serious. Linda was hit close to the eye --she has safety glasses --not all of our youngsters do --or suppose it hit someone in the eye - you youngsters who can read this -- none of you, I am sure would ever want to deliberately hurl someone else so I am sure you didn't realize what could happen. Mot hers - if you can find out what time your child's bus leaves and keep them home until just prior to that time, it would help. Sometimes they have too much time at the bus stop and don't know what to do with the extra time. What's done in fun might turn into a tradgedy. Convalescing Scott Musolf had his tonsils removed at Wood stock Memorial hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 25. His monimie reports he was a very good boy and we're all hoping he's feeling much better now. That Tuesday was a baaad day for another little one in Holiday Hills. Nancy Harper fell and hit her head resulting in a concussion which put her in McHenry hospital overnight. We're happy to report Nancy is feeling better now. Chady Ary is now at home recuperating from her recent operation and looking almost well. She claims her recovery is due in part to all the thoughtfulness of her friends and neighbors. Birthday Greetings A happy birthday to Roy Breetle who is 5 years old today and to his mommie, Gerry Breede, who celebrates her natal day tomorrow. Ricky Ary's big day is Saturday. Oct. 6, when he will be 5 years old. A very special wish to the man in my house, Clare, who will also celebrate his birthday, day, Oct. 6. The story of medicine very naturally begins with disease which is as old as life itself. However, it is among the mummies of ancient Egypt that we find the earliest evi*3 dence of illness in man. Mum- | mified remains indicate quite i clearly that ailments such as gall-stones, tuberculosis of the : spine, gouty deposits and chroi nic rheumatism afflicted the | ancients much as they do the man of today. However, the ancients couldn't seek relief by hiking into MILLSTREAM DRUGS, Inc. for a prescription designed to ease if not cure most any ailment; nor could they find as complete a selection of sundries as we offer.
