Ruefully, Mary Tomasello discovered the presence of smoke most generally means fire last week on Tuesday, 'Mien her car was completely uemolished. While journeying to one of the local supermarkets, she noticed smoke arising from the hood of her "wheels". Fortunately, she was able to escape from confinement before it burst into fiames. The fire department handled the episode promptly, and it was suspected that faulty wiring was the cause. And won't the kids have fun coming down the clothes chute from the second floor. We hear they are selling tickets to the neighborhood kids! It was a very nice party for one of the happiest of occasions; The "Welcome Mat" is Spread A hearty welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Richard White who have established residence in the former Joe Strudeman home cn Knollwood Drive. They and their three young ones have been in the village for the past month. Their family (as of this date --and subject to change in the next two weeks) includes Tammy, 3; Michael, 2; and Bryan, 1. He leaves for military duty with the Navy on Oct. 16. He will take his "boot training" in San Diego where he will meet up with Bob Gates who is already stationed there. They had a very good discussion on "The Will of God" and a worship service planned by Ida Mae Walkington and Donna Low. There were refreshments served by Bonnie Bruce and Sue Jacobsen. A total of 20 were present. Their next meeting will be Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. Pat Low and Leslie Decker will have the p r o g r a m e n t i t l e d " D a t i n g " .
