It is their seventh annual dance and il is to be held ihis Saturday, Dec. 1. at Johnsburp; community house begining at 9 p.m. So come on out and have a good time with your friends and neighbors. Tickets will be sold at the door. See you there? Women's Club Special Meeting Tonight The "Women's club will hold n ' special meeting tonight. Thursday. Nov. 29. at 8:30 •p.m. at the community house. All members are to bring their monies for the snowball dance tickets, also don't forget thai this is • the last lime for all members to uei caught up on their dues so.as to lie eligible to attend the Christmas party on Dec. 6. Another reminder is not to forget the grab gilt for 1he Christmas party. The program for this month is io be floral arrangements shown and demonstrated by a local florist. William Herzog, who passed away last Tuesday morning in Harvard hospital after a week's illness. Bill was president of Lakeland Park Property Owners association and had done a wonderful job since he took office last year. He will be missed by many of us. Our deepest sympathy to the Ray Franklin family on the recent death of Ray's mother, Mrs. Barbara Franklin, of Chicago. .Pink Bundles Former residents of Lakeland Pafk, Mr. and Mrs. Hinrichs, were blessed with a sweet baby girl last Nov. 18. Denner badges were given these boys; Wayne Cygan. ! Bobby Matthews. Bruce Florek. ! Stanley Pankiewicz and Don- | aid Prazak. Assistant Denner | stripes were given to Gary ! Mathews. Billy Barwig, Mike Kraskiewicz. Billy Eckhart and Charles Campo. Two new Bobcats earned their pins after questioning by Cubmaster Ed Druml. They are, Gary Braun and Greg ! Bartos. Donnie Arient earned 1 his wolf badge. Billy Eckhart i and Gary - Mathews were i awarded their Bear. Gary Mathews also earned his gold and silver arrow and a silver arrow for his Wolf. Kenny Becker and Kevin Druml earned Lion rank. Kevin Druml also earned a gold and silver arrow. sEach boy was questioned before getting his badge and a pine for his parent. Den mother Agnes Prazak of Den 5 proudly tied the honor flag on their den flag for having the largest attendance of parents. Den mother Esther Cygan | of Den 1 put on a skit about i Thanksgiving with her den. ; The following boys were all j talking turkeys, Wayne Cygan, ' Kevin Druml, Gary Mathews, Kenny Becker, John and Don- , aid Arient. All the Cubs and j parents then sang a song | which was enjoyed. Refreshi ments were served by Den mother Jessie Matthews of den 2. She was assisted by Shirley George and her den and by Jane Grothman of Den 5. What happened to all the mothers of the boys in Den 2? Refreshments were voted on all paiimts and the vote was for m'onH,hly refreshments, so motheisk^J^fi^n you , are called upon by your sons' den mother, and asked to bring something, don't let her down as has happened to one den the last two months. These den mothers mothers devote many long hours to your sons and it doesn't seem quite fair to have her run out, and out of her own pocket have to buy what you were asked to bring. The dens will also take turns doing j dishes and serving, so please, | don't stick your den by not helping. There were only four votes against refreshments so you know you voted for having them. Thanksgiving Doings Matt and Sue Grizely's visitors on Thanksgiving day were Sue's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mester, and family of Lincolnwood. Sue had prepared a delicious turkey and all the trimmings. Jim and Bev Wickenkamp spent Thanksgiving day in Chicago at the home of Bev's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hjertstedt. They had a wonderful time and. a delicious dinner along with a visit from Bev's sister from Minneapolis and Minn and Bev's brother who was home from college. The Schaedels spent their Thanksgiving at Wally's sister's home in Meadowdale and report they had a marvelous time. Jack and Petey Oakford and boys spent Thanksgiving day in Elmhurst at Petey's sister's home, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Paulsen, Jr. Feasting with the Ron Meurer family on Thanksgiving were Ron's folks, Mr. and Mrs. W. Meurer, and Barbara's sister and husband, Betty and Bob Stickert, and their four children, Vicki, Van, Dottie Jean and Richard. The Don Humann family had a combination birthday and Thanksgiving dinner at Don's folks, Mr. and Mrs. L. Humann, in Chicago. The Gerstad family spent their Thanksgiving holiday in Sun Prairie, Wis., visiting with school chums and relatives. They stayed at Toot's folks, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Birkinbine, and then they all went to Don's folks on Thursday where they enjoyed their turkey dinner. John and Gloria Flannigan had a house full of company on Thanksgiving day. Their guests "were Gloria's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moravec of Richmond, Gloria's brother and his wife, Bob, and Shirley Moravec and children, Bobby, Patti and Danny, of Algonquin, John's father, W. C. Flannigan, and John's sister and husband, Mary and Bob, and children, Patty, .Robby, Billy and Janet, all of 'Oak Park. They all enjoyed cherry pie and coffee end a good old gab-fest. | 1 Attends Wedding [ The Don Humann familly j attended the wedding of Don's cousin. Denise McGuire, last Saturday. Coffee Kiatch Sue Grizely had a little cot? Cub Scout Dens 3 And 4 Take A Tour Dens 3 and 4 took a tour of the Woodstock County jail last Friday Nov. 16. Den mothers Betty Kamp and Marie Kwiatek report the boys were very impressed by it all. Mr. Tracy did a wonderful job in showing and telling the boys about every thing that goes on in jail and also did a fine job answering all the questions iTftey had asked. Before leaving the Cubs had the honor of meeting Sheriff Dowd himself. All in all these Cubs will long remember this very interesting trip. Pajama Party Linda MeUrer had a pajama party with Leah Rode and Nancy Matthews and her sister, Shirley, enjoying the fun. Meanwhile Alan and Johnny were enjoying a few days in Maywood with Grandma and andpa Meurer. Visiting And Visitors The Oakfords had unexpected company last Sunday afternoon. They were friends, Jean and Lou LaPlace, and family of Hazelcrest. The Flannigans took a trip to Oak Park last Sunday to pick up their daugiter, Kristine, who was sperfdiijg a few days with Mary.
