Sword of Crystal Lake. The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Sword, formerly of Wauconda. The bride-to-be is a graduate of McHenry high echool witji the class of 1960 and the American School of Beauty Culture of Chicago and is a beautician employed in McHenry. The groom attended Wauconda township high school and the Washburne Trade School of Interior Decorating. He is presently operating his own service station. A June wedding is being planned by the young couple. Kisslinffs To Entertain WSCS "Christmas Around the World Through Song and Word" with the Kisslings will be the featured Christmas program of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Community Methodist church on Thursday, Dec. 13. The four members of the A. Roy Kissling family will participate in bringing wonderful musie from many lands. Becky, a freshman, and Bert, a senior, both attend McHenry high school, Mrs. Kissling is choir .^directorial Faith. Presbyterian church. The family will be accompanied by Mrs. Frank Ewert of Crystal Lake, who is organist at Faith church. The program promises to provide a very enjoyable afternoon of entertainment, preceded by luncheon served by the Mary circle. All women ot the church, whether members of the W.S.C.S. or not, are Invited to share in this special Christmas program and meeting. Luncheon will be served at noon, preceded by a prayer service in the sanctuary at 11 SC-Chtta1* Court Plans Holiday Party St. Clara's Court, No. 659, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, will hold a Christmas party and meeting on Dec. 13 at 8 o'clock in St. Mary's gym. Svoboda To Claim Bride The engagement and approaching marriage of Miss Ann Elaine Fenton of Davenport, daughter of Mrs. /Ralph A. Fenton of Iowa City and the late Dr. Ralph Fenton, to Fred C. Miss Fenton is a graduate of Iowa City high school and the State University of Iowa. They will make their home in Colorado Springs, Colo., while he is stationed with the Army at Fort Carson, Colo. HOMEWOOD GIRL WED IN CITY TO GEO. KRICKL, Jr. Rochelle Lorbeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson of Homewood, was married to George Krickl, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. George Krickl, Sr., of McHenry. in a 3 o'clock Saturday. Dec. 1, nuptial rite held at the Community Methodist church, with Rev. Carder officiating. Attendants were the sister of the bride, Barbara Bastan, and Robert Krickl, brother of the groom. The bride wore a winter white sheath dress and pink carnation corsage. Mrs. Bastan was attired in a gray woolen dress with white carnation corsage. A reception followed at the church dining room for about forty guests, with Mrs. Boyd Krickl, sister of the groom, serving the cake she had made. The couple left on a short trip and upon their return they will make their home in West Shore Beach. The bride attended Breman high school, Midlothian, and has been employed at Anderson Controls, McHenry. The groom, a graduate of McHenry high school, attended Elgin Junior college for one year and is now employed as a tool and die apprentice at Johnson Tool and Die in McHenry. BAKE SALE A bake sale is scheduled to be held Saturday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Justen furniture store at 1265 Green street, sponsored by McHenry Girl Scouts, Troop 575. Escorted proudly by her father, Miss Barbara Peterson came down the aisle of the Immanuel Lutheran church, Palatine, to meet her waiting bridegroom, Mr. Lawrence L. Larsen of McCullom Lake to be united in marriage on Saturday, Dec. 1. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl K. Peterson of Ela road, Palatine, while the groom's parents are Mrs. Signe Larsen of Park Ridge and Ivar, deceased. The 8 p.m. service was solemnized by the Rev. R. C. Sauer in a double ring ceremony. The altar was beautifully trimmed with white mums and gladioli. Miss Peterson's bridal gown was fashioned of white brocade with a pearl crown holding her silk illusion fingertip veil in place. She carried a bouquet of white roses and mums. Mrs. Jeannette Bet^s of McCullom Lake served her friend as matron of h£>nor, and the bridesmaids were the bride's sister, Miss Nancy Peterson, Palatine and Miss Marian Muro'lo of Chicago. The women were identically gowned in red velvet, with matching headpieces and accessories. They also carried bouquets of white roses and mums. Brother of the groom, Donald Larsen of Bensenville, was the best man and Robert Ayling and Leslie Ayling, the groom's b r o t h e r-in-law and nephew respectively, served as groomsmen. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Peterson chose a street length dress of beige brocade with matching accessories. Mother of the groom, Mrs. Larsen, wore a blue costume with complementing acce s s o r i e s. Both mothers had corsages of white roses. The bride and groom made a c e r e m o n y o f c u t t i n g t h e i r three-tiered wedding cake at the reception immediately following the ceremony. Approximately 100 guests assembled at the bride's home for the toast to the newly weds and the festivities. The newly married Mr. and Mrs. Larsen had a short weekend wedding trip, with plans for a honeymoon journey to Arizona in the near future.. They will make their home at 4908 W. PERSONALS Lee Melsek left last week for his home in Fort Myers, Fla., after spending six months with his grandmother, Tillie Engeln. Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Patzke, Clayton Patzke, Irene Zlobinski and Frances Patzke spent Sunday in the Walter Patzke home at McCullom Lake. Jack Patzke has recently been discharged from the United States army, having spent 26 months in Germany. When he returned to the states he brought with him a beautiful bride,' an adopted son and sister- in-law and they are all living with his mother, Mrs. Frances Patzke, on Waukegan street. Lydia Engeln of Dearborn, Mich., spent several days recently with Tillie Engeln. Miss Janyce Jaye Bonder walked down the aisle of St. John the Baptist church 1 n Johnsburg wearing a white lace sheath, floor length dress, when she became the bride ot Dr. August Ronald Banknieder last Saturday, Dec. 1. Rev. Fr. Joseph Blitsch officiated at the 11 o'clock nuptial rite which united in marriage the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bonder of 306 Northlake road, Lakfcmoor, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Banknieder of 5705 W. Wilsoh, Chicago. Miss Bonders gown was styled with jewel neckline, long, pointed sleeves and peau de soie over-skirt forming the train. Her hat was a pillbox covered with lace, to which a short veil was attached. Miss Marcel la Cox of Chicago acted as maid of honor, and Miss Joy Fairchild of McHenry and two sisters of the bride, Gayle and Bonnea Bonder, were bridesmaids. They wore green peau de soie dresses styled with bell skirts, jewel necklines and long sleeves. On their heads they wore open pillbox hats covered in the same material as their dresses, to which were attached short veils. Their pearl earrings were gifts of the bride. Henry Mazza, Jr., of Chicago served as best man and groomsmen were Arthur Mazza, Richard Mazzolini and Allan Farm, all of Chicago. George Aaknes of Chicago ushered. Mrs. Bonder selected a gold sheath dress wth brown accessories, with which she wore a pillbox hat covered with the same material ^s her dress. Mrs. Banknieder wore a lace sheath with chiffon over-skirt in toast color, a feather pillbox hat and brown accessories. A reception for 150 guests was held later at the McHenry Country club. The couple left by plane for Seattle, Wash., and later intend to spend some time skiing at a resort in Stevens Pass, Wash. They will make their home in Everett, Wash. The bride is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary academy and attended the University of Illinois. She will now enroll as a student at Everett Junior college. The bridegroom graduated from Austin high school in Chicago and received a doctor of veterinary medicine de-; gree at the University of Illinois. He is a veterinarian at Paine Air Force base, Wash. Mrs. John Huemann 12-6-62 ALBERT PURVEYS MARRIED FIFTY YEARS LAST WEEK Albert Purvey of Crystal Lake and Vera Compton of Woodstock were married Nov. 28, 1912, and in the intervening fifty years they residecL near Crystal Lake, at Ridge-^ field and Woodstock before moving to McHenry forty years ago, where he was named greenskeeper at the time construction was in progress at the McHenry Country club. In observance of his fortieth anniversary there a year ago, Mr. Purvey announced semiretirement, but continues to serve in an advisory capacity.^ At that time a party was held in his honor. The Purveys' only son, Dr. John Compton Purvey, a practicing physician in Crystal Lake, died several years ago. Since then, much of their spare time and a great deal of interest has centered in their six grandchildren. They are Patti (Mrs. Don Church); John of the. Air Force at Memphis;^ Mikk, a student at Drake university; Lynn, Peggy and Allen a\ home. JOINS FRATERNITY Dick Antonson, son of Mr. and .Mrs. C. L. Antonson of Martinsville, N.
