Pins Edie Iverson 385-1415 ^ Pfick 162 met Thursday evening, Nov. 29 in the American Legion hall in McHenry. A1 Bianchi is the Cub Scout Master. The pack received their pack flag, American flag, and two den flags from the American Legion. Marilyn Fultz and Rita Simpson furnished the refreshments. Den I won the little Cubber for attendance. ^This little uniformed guy they weep for a month and add something to his outfit. He was made by their Den Chief David Steppick and his mother and presented to the pack. The Cub Scouts displayed their Projects and sang songs. Scott Fuller won his Wolf badge. Receiving Bobcat pins were Jim Sobacki, Marshall Leonard and Greg Fultz. ^ Pack 454 met Monday evewiing, Nov. 26, in the Johnsburg public school. Mel Stephenson is the Cub Scout Master. Bob Kellogg is the new committee chairman and Rob Stoll is the new committee outing chairman. Russell Davis was Awarded his Bear badge, one gold arrow, and one silver arrow. Jimmy Fultz received one silver arrow. Den JO made a display of a fort, ®abins, wagons, animals, and trees and Den 12 made a display of log cabins and teepees. They were shown a short travelogue movie. Den Meetings Den 10 met Dec. 5 with Lydia Fenner as Den mother and Georgia Sigman as her able assistant. They meet in the Faith church. Their new denner is Jimmy Fultz and Assistant denner is Carey Fenner. The treats were furnished by Lydia and the grace was said by all. The Cub Scouts each made two Christmas tree ornaments. These will go on the tree at the next pack meeting and will be presented to the Children's home in Woodstock. They played a game before returning home. JThe next pack meeting will be •their Christmas party on Dec. 17 at 7:30 in the Johnsburg school. Den 2 of Pack 162 under the leadership of Den mother Carolyn Congdon are busily making Christmas tree ornaments. Jimmy Qual received his Bobcat pin at the last pack meeting. F aith cliui ch^The girls are to bring a twenty-nine cent grab-bag gift. They are each bringing an item of food for a box to be given a needy family for Christmas. Their investiture program on the evening of Dec. 5 was very well attended and each little Brownie looked so cute as they received their pins and joined together in a song. After the ceremony delicious homemade cookies and coffee and milk were served in the church basement. The cookies were made by the three committee mothers, Mrs. Biederer, Mrs. Kellogg and Mrs. Simpson. oh Dec. 19 Erika Haldeman shares her day with 10 year old Randy Penick and 4 year old Jacqueline Jaoobson. Wishing all of you a merry day.! I goofed on the date of Harry Brodin's birthday. It was not Dec. 1 but will be Dec. 31. An annual New Year's Eve celebration! Girl Scouts The Girl Scouts are busy on their Christmas projects. Troop 436 is under the leadership of Rosemary Newlon and Peggy Garrelts and meet in St. Patrick's church in McHenry. They are sponsored by the Eastwood Manor Property Owner's association. The girls are looking forward to thei? coming Christmas party when they are to bring a fifty-cent grab-bag gift. Birthday Celebrants' Kristine Priester had a nice birthday accompanying her famiiy to Chicago's loop for a wonderful show followed by dinner out. She shared her birthday cake and ice cream with a little girl friend out in the Manor to make her birthday complete. The Leonard Lawrences, Warren Krebs, and the Lenny Hansens all go together for cake on the occasion of Ricky's birthday. Nov. 25 Cheryl Fenner became six years old and cele- -brated the day with a party. Guests attending were her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Zgorski from Chicago, the Ben Loveless family from Streamwood, the Midonnas from Ingleside, and Dick and Doris Kretzschmar from Pistakee. Birthday cake was served and she received many lovely presents. Monday she celebrated again with seven little neighborhood girls. They were Rosemary, Diane, and Kathleen Rodgers, Monica Haldeman, Susie Newlon. Maureen McCormack and her sister, Cathy Fenner. They danced the 'twist', played games, and were served tiny tea sandwiches, cup cakes, ice cream, and chocolate milk. A good time was had by all. s Birthday Greetings Today, Dec. 13, is the second birthday for my son, Kelvin. Harold Slove celebrates his day on Dec. 14. Dec. 15, Saturday, we wish a very happy birthday to little four-year old Lucy Hawkins and also to two-year old Edward Petersen. Sunday, Dec 16, Karen Beike will become a young miss of eleven and a third two-year old boy, Billy Gruhn, will be blowing out his candles too. On the seventeenth, his mother, Grace Gruhn, will have her birthday with all our good wishes. Dec. 18 Ambrose Koerper shared with little eightvpar old .Tarkip Ripdpr Anrt Family Custom Sunday the Robert Mitchell family went into Chicago to do some shopping and visit Kay's family in Oak Park. A surprise awaited them in the Hill residence as her brother. Bernard Hill, wife, three children and infant were all there from Kansas City. With all eight grandchildren present Saint Nicholas decided this was a good time to come pounding on the door for his annual pre-Christmas visit and he threw into the room all kinds of fruit, nuts, and goodies until his bag was emptied. Iowa Trip Jim and Georgiana Wilson and children went to Decatur, Iowa, to visit his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wilson. Debbie and Danny had a wonderful time on the farm. They enjoyed a dollar gift grab-bag and were served barbecue and a big red cake with green icing and coconut for the holiday mood. Hospital Patient We are wishing little Marissa Mclntyre a very speedy and pleasant recovery from her recent tonsillectomy. A round The Manor Walt and Eleanor Kuck attended a bridal shower which was given in honor of Kay Riley and John Korner. There was food a'plenty and dancing afterwards. Eugene Kuck accompanied the Davises^o Wisconsin over the weekends Kay and Bob Mitchell had dinner guests Friday night frpm Meadoyvdale. They were Mr. and Mrs. Schinler and their four children. Charlotte and Billy Urbah, and Marjorie, Dean, and Gerry Brodin, went to Chicago's loop to see all the lovely Christmasdecorated windows. Sunday, Dec. 2, Tom and Rita Simpson attended Marian Central's football banquet. Accompanying them were Tom's parents, his brother, Father Simpson, and friend. Father Coyle. Walt Garrelts went on a deer hunting trip up to Mount Carroll. Peggy Garrelts, Lydia Fenner, and their friend, Jarie Eiehinann. from Lake Zurich, went on a shopping spree in Milwaukee. Skate And Boot Exchange And Sale Dec. 15, at 1 o'clock there will be a skate and boot exchange at the barn. S e v e r a l t h i n g s w e r e discussed at this meeting. The street signs were discussed. Also discussed,-was the Christmas party for the resident children of Lilymoor, up to the age of 12. It is also brought up that any woman who wishes to go to Downey hospital and make the Vets life a little happier to contact Tvathy Fuhler. They go to Downey qnee a month, the third Wednesday of the month. The monthly prize was won by Ann Novak. Hostesses for the December meeting were Lre P.issi, Tena Bellino and Toni Lhrecit. The next monthly meeting will be held Monday, Jan. 7, in the large hall of Club Lilymoor at 8 p.m. Hostess for t-he January meeting are Leona Feint us. Diane Fuhler and Connie Johnson. The inside of the home was badly burned, but fortunately the Richard Cellarius family escaped without injuries.
