Kothero Club Observes Catholic Press Month St. Patrick's Mothers club will hold its next meeting Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 3:15 p.m. In observance of Catholic Press Month, the guest speaker will be Fr. Heineman of Dundee, whose subject will be "Scriptures and Writings of the Saints" and "The Word Was God." Fr. Heineman teaches at St. Edward's school in Elgin. It is hoped the attendance will pick up for this meeting, as there has been a noticeable drop-off in recent months. Fourth grade mothers will serve the refreshments with Shirley Zahn as hostess. A prize will be awarded, as usual, to the room best represented. Surprise Party Honors Birthday Hilary Rodenkirch was the guest of honor Saturday night; at a party held at his home. The affair was a surprise planned by his wife in observance of his birthday. NYE DRUG Indiana Pastor To Visit City An outstanding speaker, the Rev. Glen F. Hulbert, pastor of the Merrillville Methodist church in Indiana, will lie the guest speaker at the February meeting of the Community Methodist Church Women'b Society of Christian Service which will be held Thursday, Feb. 21. Reverend Hulbert, who has a wife, Jeanette, and two children, Timothy, and Karla ( from Korea I, has been pastor at Merrillville, Ind., since 1960. Previous to this he was pastor at the Brown street Methodist church in Lafayette, Ind., from 1956 to 1959, and associate minister of the Trinity Methodist church, Lafayette, Ind. 1954 to 1956. • Rev. Hulbert attended the University of Notre Dame, received his B. A. in 1950 at Kalamazoo College, Mich., and his B. D. in 1954 at Garrett Theological seminary. He did graduate study at Purdue, and spent the summer of 1958 abroad in a seminar in "Church History and Art." While there he visited and studied the historical sites and monuments of Christian history in Italy, France, Germany and Switzerland. With a background as varied as his, along with his known ability to capture an audience with his interesting messages, members are all looking forward to this afternoon program. The prayer service will be held at 11:45, followed by luncheon in the dinning hall at noon. The program will begin promptly at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary. Schultz of Richmond became the bride of Mr. Bruce Novak of Pistakee Highlands. The bride is fto? daughter of Mr. and Mtfs. Arthur Schultz, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Novak. Rev. Fr. Clausen officiated at the 11 o'clock nuptial rite. Miss Schultz approached the altar, lovely in a floor length bridal gown of white. Attending her were the groom's sister, Mrs. Theresa O/minski of Pistakee Highlands, as matron of honor and Miss Schultz' sister, Vergene Lacke of Twin Lakes, as bridesmaid. Edwin Ozminski served as best man and Allen Lacke was groomsman. Breakfast was served to the bridal party and two families following the service at the Schultz home. At 6:30 that evening, between 125 and 150 guests gathered at the V.F.W. in McHenry for a reception. The bride is a graduate of Richmond high school and is employed in the drug store in that city. The groom received his education in the McHenry high school and has just returned after touring with a dance band for eight months. The couple will reside in this area. MOON AND STARS WILL SHINE ON PRE-LENTEN DANCE When patrons of St. Mary's Home and School association pre-Lenten dance do the latest steps on Saturday, Feb. 16, it will be under the smiling face of a friendly moon and a myriad of stars. The dance will be held at the Legion home from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., with the public invited. A beautiful gold trophy will be given for the best "twister." Entertainment promises such name stars as Patience and Prudence and Homer and Jethro, as well as manv others.
