QuiiiratulaJLioas to all of you! A",.Good Excuse Not that we "gals" need one, bUt a demonstration Is a good excuse for-a.. kuffee klaLch. Verne Jost Hosted one in her home on Tuesday, Feb. 26. All the neighbors -were invited and those attended had a most enjoyable time; which is the usual thing at the Jost residence. Stffl That's me! I missed the demonstration at Verne's because I attended the two-day Girl Scout Leaders' training session held at the Moose hall in Mc- Henry. There has been a big change made in Girl Scout programming and they have to teach the leaders before the leaders can attempt to teach the girls. There were twenty of us at this particular session and although it was a busy schedule, it Was fun. I met some of the gals I haven't seen since the last time I took the training. Makes you feel Jike a kid in school again. Mek List We have two hospital patients to report this week. Bernice Fry entered Harvard hospital last Monday, where she underwent surgery on Tuesday. As far as I know she's doing just fine and will no doubt be home by the time you read this. Friday morning found Donald Dettlow traveling to Hines hospital where he will be under observation for awhile. I'll let you know more, as I hear of it. And last week I forgot to mention (I'm ashame to say) that George Kropf was mighty sick. First time George was ever so sick he couldn't go to work. They don't hardly make 'em like like that no mof*. "" Sad Newt Millie and G«or$e received word last week that ner cousin, Helen Sauer, passed away. Although she had been sick for some time, it was somefhat of a shock, nonetheless. The dinner was delicious, with plenty to eat. The service was so good, it's apt to spoil us all for the next time we eat in a restaurant.. Best of all was the chance to visit with friends and neighbors, who like us have hibernated during these cold winter months. We're already looking forward to next year boys. Get-well Wishes GiGi Smith is home getting well enough to go back to Children's Memorial to have her tonsils out. A special wish to Ellen Erickson who has been down with bronchial pneumonia again. Get-well quick!!! To all the rest of you, and there are so many that I'm sure I'd miss someone if I tried to name everyone-if you've got the flu bug-get rid of it- and get well soon. S'no fun being sick. Signs of Spring!?! Well, we made it this year. Our cold weather has had one advantage the ice was strong enough to get about twelve trUckloads of sand down on the lake beach. Now, this is good and bad. It's good, because it will be nice swimming down there when the weather gets warm again,--but it is also dangerous right now. Parents are asked to caution their children not to go out on the sand. The weight of the sand is apt to break the ice there first. The truck has already cracked the ice, the added weight of children may be just enough for a tragedy, please kids, I know it looks like fun, but we want you all around to swim at thaV ROTARY NEWS Our reliable secretary Dr. Henry Freund surprised the meeting last week when he announced that our club was now a "300 percent Rotary Foundation Club." The additional Rotary Foundation Fellowship program will send its first "ambassadors of good will" overseas during the 1962- 1903 academic year. Students in this program will study in areas which, because of language or other reasons, are not generally chosen by regular Rotary . Foundation Fellows.
