March 14-21. 1963) NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed proposals for the improvement of Lincoln Road in McHenry Road District, McHenry County, Illinois, will be received at the office of the McHenry Road District Highway Commissioner until 10:00 a.m. March 28, 1£$>3- All proposals must be accompanied by a bank cashier's check, bank draft, or certified check for not less than ten 10) percent of the amount of the bid, or according to the schedule as provided in Article 2-7 of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction" prepared by the department of Pi\blic Works and Buildings of the State of Illinois and adopted by said Department on January 2, 1958. The proposed improvement shall consist of the necessary grading, construction of a gravel or crushed stone base course, Tyj>e A, and a Bituminous Surface, subclass B-5. (Pub. March 14-21, 1963) Obituaries ELLEN <. YLE A funeral Mass .was sung in St. Patrick's church, McHenry, Saturday morning for Mr*. Ellen Gale, 55, of Creve C'oeur, who died March 6. in St! Francis hospital, Peoria. Death ended a three-month illness. Ellefi Frisby Gale was born Sept. 14, 1907, in McHenry, daughter of the late George and Ellen Frisby. She was married March 6, 1952, in Chicago to Edward W. Gale, who survives. Other survivors art two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Schaefer of McHt-nry and Mrs. Clara Kunstman of Batavia; and a brother, James Frisby, of Mundelein. Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death. The body was brought to the f Peter M. Jus ten & Son tyieral home from Peoria. Calvin W. Royce Calvin W. Royce, 92, of Lake Shore drive, Wonder Lake, was found dead in bed in the home of his step-son, Richardj^A. Cope, last 'Thursday MarcnT He had resided with the- Copes, for the past four years. Mr. Royce, a retired fire chief in Joliet from 1913 to 1933, was born Aug. 8, 1870, in Whollonsburg, N.Y. He wan a fifty-year member of the Masonic lodge, Mount Joliet, No. 52, AF & AM. His wife, Maxy, died in April, 1959. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Harry Eungard, of Jolifet. The body rested at the Peter M. Justen & Son funeral home until 2 o'clock Saturday, when Rev. Ernest Carder of the Community Methodist church officiated at last rites, followed by private burial, KATHRYN DOOLTTTLE Mrs. Kathryn Doolittle, 82, of 5015 Shore "rive, Lakeland Park, died last Fnday, March 8, at the Villa Nursing home, where she had oeen confined only a few hours. She had resided at her present address for the past f«rur years. The deceased was bom Feb. 2. 1881, in Chicago. Mrs. Doolittle is survived by her husband, William. The body was taken to the George R. Justen & Son funeral home and then transferred to the Sheehy chapel on Ashland avenue in Chicago. Burial took place Tuesday in St. Mary's cemetery, Evergreen Park. WARTHEN KIMBALL Wart hen Kelly Kimball, 84, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kimball of McHenry, died Match 7, in Miami, Fla., according to word received by friends. Mr. Kimball had resided in Miami since 1947. He spent his early life m McHenry, and for many years served as postmaster in ingleside. Surviving are his widow, Helen; and a daughter, Eileen, a former school teacher in Lake county. Services were held last Saturday from the Tracy funeral home in Miami, with burial in that city.
