Thursday, Match Mr I9fci THE. KcHENRY PUUHDEJLLEB Lakeland Park HOLD GENERAL LPPOA MEETING SUNDAY MARCH 31 Gloria FlamUgan - 1854710 Barbara Blearer . S85-4S56 There will be a general meeting of the LP.P.OA. on Sunday, March 31, at 3 p.m. at the community house. At this meeting there will be election of new officers to the board. Boy Scouts Rnmmnge Sale Our Boy Scout troop's rummage sale is planned for April 5 and 6, at our community house. That's Friday, April 5, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, April 6, from 9 to 5. Please, won't you plan on attending? This is a worthwhile affair and our troop's dance team would appreciate your backing. Anything you may have to help make it a success will gladly be picked up. Contact committee chairman, Walt Mrotz, or any leader or any Boy Scout. We accept anything. Troop 459 Indian Dance Team Our Indian dance team now have their first and second performance behind them. We feel they've proved what can be done. On Thursday they danced for our Woman's club. The boys did a wonderful job and from all the remarks we've heard our ladies thought they were wonderful. Mrs. Bottari presented scoutmaster Ed Drum with a check to show their appreciation. The dance team in turn is most appreciative as it will help pay for their initial cost of body paint, but most of all they appreciate the tremendous round of applause for their first dance. On Sunday the team again danced, this time for the Cub pack's Blue and Gold banquet. A great deal of work goes into this team. The boys outfits are all hand made, either from materials at hand or from kits, nothing is premade. Seeing these boys made up with their wonderful outfits is worthwhile in itself. Your reporter believes that all of Lakeland Park can well be proud of this Boy Scout troop and of the dance team and of each individual Boy Scout. The following men worked hard and long tc help the team: Scoutmaster Ed Drum], Assistant Scout masters Joe Prazak, Irv Becker and Marv George, committee chairman, Walt Mrotz, and committeemen Ken Grothman and Frank Ficek. These men apply body make up, teach drummers, dancers, work on lighting, built the fireplace and in general must go to bed hearing drums and bells. Two of our mothers, Aggie Pra zak, and Kay Druml, apply all . decorative war paint to the boys and they report Boy Scouts don't see why eye make up or lipstick is necessary but the results while they dance makes the boys know it's a must. The dance team is new and as they keep practicing and adding speciality dances we know they will make a good name for Lakeland Park. Scout-O-Rama A reminder, the Scout-ORama is coming up on Saturday, March 23, at the Crystal Lake high school, from 11 a.m. SP&*| by Ross Emerson Mankind first experiences pain in infancy, and it is usually no more than a short twinge away thereafter. Despite a great deal of preoccupation with the subject, few fully know the nature of pain, and fewer still can explain its many paradoxes. Why, for instance, does a minor injury cause extreme suffering in one person and little or none in another? Superficial injuries are often more painful then serious ones, as witness the fact that bullet wounds seldom hurt. Pain is not cumulative. It is not increased by a lesser injury elsewhere in the body; in other words, pain does not "add up." Also, have you noticed that pain is invaribly worse at night? You're not about to get hurt, however, when you count on MILLSTREAM DRUGS, INC. for fast, efficient and thoroughly accurate filling of your prescriptions. Also, look for top value in cosmetics and all other items in our sundries section at MILLSTREAM DRUGS, INC., 8720 W. Elm -- Jewel Shopping Plaza. Phone 885- 5057. If you have any questions regarding pharmacy or public health which you would like to have discussed in this column, write to Russ Emerson, c/o this paper. to 9- p.m. Our team dances at .2:30 p.m. so let's have a ter* ,rific showing from Lakeland Park to show every other performing troop or pack we're proud of what represents our community. Anyone who would like tickets can get them by contacting, ticket chairman Ken Grothman. Women's CM Last Thursday evening the Women's club met at the community hbuse for their regular monthly meeting. We had the pleasure of our Boy Scouts doing' their Indian dances for us. A great hand of applause goes to them and their Scout leaders who devote so much time for these boys. Also, Howard H. Nehlig was there to show films and tell about Valley Hi Nursing/home.
