"The National Tuberculosis association," continued Mrs. Lounsbury, "played a prominent role in fostering developbent of this uniform system and all of the country's 2400 tuberculosis associations plan to adopt it immediately." Association leaders recognized, several years ago, that because various health agencies kept their accounts in different w&ys, their reports to the public were difficult to compare and thus were often confusing. The work of devising the uniform accounting system CROSSING FATALITIES A total of 88 persons were lulled and 358 were injured in Illinois at railroad grade crossings during 1961. The Bureau of Traffic of the Department of Public Works and Buildings has made an analysis of railroad crossing accidents and their findings show that the dangerous hours are from 10 a.m. until noon, the period having a higher incidence of accidents, according to the findings. Passenger cars were involved in four out of five of all fatal grade crossing accidents. Failure to yield rightof- way and disregard of traffic signals contributed to two oui of five accidents at railroad crossings during 1961. Local residents were implicated in four out of five fatal accidents. There were 30 per cent less fatal accidents at crossings at urban locations than at rural crossings under similar conditions, according to the report. IT PATS TO ADVERTISE Quality Radiator Repair began in 1960 while Dr. James E. Perkins, managing director of the National Tuberculosis association was president of the National Health council. "I am sure," Mrs. Lounsbury said, "that all major voluntary health agencies are going to adopt this uniform system of accounting and reporting. Thus p$OJjlC Will gOt S ploar nip. ture of what all are doing and how they are spending the funds entrusted to them." AU FOR THE CHURCH The Church j* the greatest factor on earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a stronf Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There are four sound reasons why every person should attend service* regularly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral and material support. Plan to go to church regularly and read your Bible daily. Sunday II Samuel 23:1-7 Pam can't keep a secret. She'll probably tell us what she wished before the cake is half eaten. Whatever her wish, ft will be for a little gid type of thing. But--what of me? What do I wish for xny daughter? Success in a career •. • happy marriage •. • children • • • a beautiful home ... a fair share of worldly goods • • • health • • • happiness? I suppose I wish all of these things for Pam, In some measure. But if I had to limit myself to a single wish--I would ask for her a deep and abiding faith. How wonderful it is to have an unshaken belief in God's ways and His works, plus the conviction of His love for us. Some of us may be limited in our ability to give our childrerf^rnaterial things, but we need never stint on teaching them spiritual values. Start taking your children to church and church school this Sunday.
