The results were, Dean, 94 votes; Brown, 22; Peschke, 16; Beckenbaugh, 13; Stone, 256; Buss, 92; Huemann, 121; Adams, 283; Schultz, 274; Miller, 110; and Regner, 325. Votes on the bond issue were 420 against and 26 for. We had the turn-out of a presidential election and one to be proud of. Mount Hope Church The Good Friday Communion services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Easter Sunday the Sunrise services will be at 7 a.m., and church services will be held at 11 a.m. March 31, Rev. Smith, Shirley Spankuch and Sherri Janquart attended the district organizational meeting for the M.Y.F. in Elgin. After July 1. the Mount Hop* Methodist church will be under the guidance of Elgin, a newly formed district. Nursery Sunday school for 3 and 4-year-old children will be held at 9:45 every Sunday and all children in that age bracket are welcome. Report of Scout-O-Rnma March 30, was a busy and exciting day for Pack 452 as well as all Scouts in the Kiswaukee district. The Crystal Lake field house was teeming with activity as the Scouts held their annual Scout-ORama. The accomplishments demostrated by these boy» were overwhelming and comprised a wonderful show of enthusiasm by the Scouts and their leaders. A carnival atmosphere prevailed throughout the day as visitors watched authentic Indian dances, judo demostrations and pinewood derbys. Strolling the vast area, the visitors enjoyed the booths at which demostrations were going on all day in handicrafts, first aid. physical fitness afid 11 • prorrilures. In 1 i n • booth of Pack 452, the boys adeptly showed the making of plaster wall plaques, from the pouring of the molds to the painting and completion of the Bear, Wolf and Lion heads. Every boy in the Pack had a chance to participate in the plaster castings. The boys worked in alternating shifts and Pack 452 booth was awarded a red ribbon as a second place recognition award. News of Your Friends and Neighbors April 3, Grace Reinhardt, Gert Snell and Irene Novotny attended the big fashion show and card party at the Wing and Fin club. Your reporter was to have attended but due to a very severe case of strep throat was unable to attend. I am afraid unless a lot of news is called in this will be a very short column this week, since to even talk is a painful ordeal. The Tripoli card club met at the home of Ginny Emmerick, the hostess for this month. Haze Morley, Lois Mason, Janice Janquart, Teena O'Malley, Lily Hovseth, Doris Hansen and Lee Conway were on hand to enjoy cards and Ginny's delicious snacks. Dick and Haze Morley entertained Haze's family for an Easter get-together April 11 in their home. Haze's parents from Spring Grove, her sister, Eleancr, and hubby, Bob, her nephew, Bob, and his girl friend, Pat, from Northlake, all enjoyed a delicious ham dinner with all the trimmings. Dick and Haze enjoyed the day catching up on all the family news and events of the past few months. April 6, Mrs. Richard Ristow celebraled her sevenly-third birthday. She had been laid up with a very severe case of flu and was in bed for nearly four weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ristow have resided in the Highlands for the past enght years and both loved every minute of it. Both of them are very spry and active and they keep their yard just beautiful. We are sorry we missed your birthday but we hope it was a very wonderful day for you and may God grant you many more years of health and happiness and I am sure your Quality Radiator Repair family made your day a day to remember. April 3, Emma Rosengart enjoyed the day in Chicago and we are sure all the gals she visited enjoyed her company very much. Mamie O'Neill spent two weeks in Texas and enjoyed most of the stay. Mamie is another wonderful cheerful gal. We sent our best wishes to Bill Bischoff, who will have his tonsils removed at the Mc- Henry hospital April 12. Since Bill is a father, he will know the feeling children experience when they have their tonsils removed. Glenda Wieck was a pretty sick gal last week with flu and it really got her down. Let's hope by now she is feeling fine again. Pleas from Highlands are coming in to keep your children out of other t people s yards. They are ruining flower beds and newly seeded lawns. If it keeps up, most every one will be putting up fences to save their yards. The usual complaint of dogs running loose never cease, no matter how much this is printed. Reports from several dog owners say that their dogs have come home loaded with shot. It is too bad their pets have to suffer, but people have gotten so fed up with this situation they are taking matters into their own hands. Larry Lutz entered the McHenry hospital April 1, Hope it is nothing serious, Larry. Kay and Wally Sielisch entertained Joe and Liesl K^anisch Palm Sunday in honor of their wedding anniversary. Pat and Ron Packson spent last weekend in Chicago, where they enjoyed a banquet and reunion with all their friends they haven't seen in five years. The Farwells have been very busy. Last weekend Dick and Rose and their children spent in Madison, Wis., where they visited Rose's sister-in-law, Mary Kautzer, who is confined in the General hospital. She was so happy to see them. Mary is very ill and she will be happy when she is back on her feet and home once more with her family. That evening the Moreths and Vi Schubel spent the evening with the Lindemanns. April 8, Lorraine Lindemann attended the V.F.W. auxiliary meeting and election of officers.
