St. John's Home And School Association There will be no meeting of the St. John school and home CKsocintion for the month of April. Plans are being made by the school and home association for a toddlers fashion show and card party to be helc^Tuesday May 7, at 8 p.m. in the Johnsburg community hall. Johnsburg P.T.A. The annual fun fair was a ihuge success and everyone who worked so hard towards that end was well pleased with the proceeds. The Johnsburg P.T.A. has cancelled its regular monthly meeting of April 16, and will hold it instead April 23. The Musical group of the seventh and eighth graders under the capable direction of Mr. Prince will entertain the parents. Installation of officers will be Birthdays And Anniversaries Two birthday gals this week, Terry Oziminski who celebrates her birthday today April 18, and to Mabel Gregg who will celebrate her birthday tomorrow April 19. We have two anniversaries this week too, Joe and Mabel Gregg celebrate their wedding anniversary April 19, and Earl and Pauline Eilers celebrate their big day April 23. Hivitatloti To Highlander* for A Special Dance The Lake Region Post number 703 extends a cordial invitation to all the Highlanders to attend their annual spring dance to be held at the Legion Memorial Home on Route 12, Saturday May 4, 9 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. The price of your tickets includes food and drinks. A big welcome home to Dot Fellows who underwent surgery at St. Theresa hospital and is now home doing real fine and feeling loads better. Mount Hope Church Notes April 21, the Senior M.Y.F. of Mount .Hope churcji will have a supper at 7 p.m. A regular monthly meeting will be held. The M.Y.F. extends an invitation to youths in the high school ages to attend. For further information and if the ohes wishing to attend the supper will give Shirley Spankuch, Hyatt 7-3136, and Cheri Janquert, Hyatt-3282, a call they will be most grateful. That way they can plfin on bow many servings to prepare for, and it is hoped there will be a large turn out. Please get your tickets for the square dance to be held May 4, at the Grant high school in Fox Lake. A huge ticket sales could swell the organ fund, and every one agrees a new organ would add much to services. Please get all your cake and cereal coupons to Sally Jo VonBruenchenheim so the W.S. C.S. can get the much needed silverware. The next meeting of the W.S.C.S. will be held May 14, hostesses will be Hazel Rogde and Shirley Wiley. The program for the day will be "Opportunities to serve your W.S. C.S." and discussion on May Fellowship. Riddle* Celebrate Birthdays With Parties April 5, little Shelley Lynn VonBruenchenheim celebrated her second birthday and April 6 her big brother Scotty celebrated his fourth birthday, April 25 Jeff Novotny will celebrate his ninth birthday and April 29 Bobbie Hurckes will be celebrating his twelfth birthday. Best wishes to you all and many happy returns of the day, hope you all had real nice parties. Convalescents Best wishes for speedy recoveries go to the' following, Chet Banker who is still confined to the Hines hospital *nd last reports are, Chet is coming along fine now. To Glenda Wieck who was confined at the McHenry hospital several days with a bad Infection from a very severe cold. Glenda is News Of Your Friends And Neighbors James and Jane Malek and their three daughters spent Easter at the home of Jane's day, Mr. Nemec in Chicago. Later in the afternoon they stopped in for supper at the home of Jim's parents in Brook field. Good Friday Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peters of Tomahawk, Wis., arrived at the home of their daughter and family, Mary Lou and Dick Sabielny. The Peters will spend several weeks at their daughter's home and the family is real thrilled to have them with them. Dick and Joan Zilligcn entertained their parents, the Shorts and Zilligens of Forest Park, for Easter dinner and a birthday party for Susan who was 7 years ,o!d April 14. A cute little Easter bunny, Susan enjoyed her day and all the kiddies enjoyed the grandparents. On April 7, Fritz and Sally Jo VonBruenchenheim entertained Sally Jo's sister-in-law, Ann Margaret Scott, and her two children, Pammy and James Allen, of Chicago. It was an unexpected visit and it was a grand day with more company dropping in later on in the day. The following gals enjoyed the beautiful Mass and Communion Jalm Sunday, and the delicious breakfast after Mass and the meeting that followed, Marilyn VanZevern, T e e n a O'Mally, Dorothy Jenkins, Dorothy Orlowski, Betty Zenner, Kay Sielisch, Mable Gregg and Frieda Micheals. It was announced at the meeting that the church will be cleaned in the very near future and as soon as I have the date will get it in the column because we need every able body women for the job and for cooking the big meal for all the women who do the cleaning. Lorraine and Bob Hurckes entertained I^orraine's mother, Mrs. Rix of Chicago, for Easter with a big dinner. I^ater in the afternoon Mrs. Rix went to Johnsburg to pick up her parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schulz, and took them to visit their son, Bob Schulz, in Harvard. Registration for St. John's school for 1963-64 will be on Sunday, April 21. This is the last reminder. Bill and Emma Rosengart, their daughter, Toots Spankuch, and her children, Shirley and Ronnie, and his girl friend spent Easter in Chicago at the home of . the Rosengarts* nephew and family, the Art Planners. Ed. and Ginny Thoren have been making trips in to see Ed's mother who is confined in the Oak Park hospital. Hope she is better very soon. Irene Kolan was home from work a few days last week nursing a very severe cold. Irene is feeling much better now. Agnes Wroblewski spent a few days in Chicago last week at the home of her son. She enjoyed going to her old parish and seeing all of her old friends. Joe and Lorraine Ullo . and their son spent Easter Sunday in Rockford visiting their daughter, Linda, in the convent. It was a nice day for the Ullo8 and an equally nice day for Linda who enjoyed seeing them. It's A Boy Don and Audrey Morin are the proud parents of a baby boy, born at the McHenry hospital April 6, 4 a.m. in the morning. The baby weighed 8 lbs. 15 ozs. He has been named Randy Robert. "As Audrey says" their little Easter bunny will be welcomed home by Daddy Don, his three brothers and his grandmother, Mrs. Morin, who has been taking care of the boys and home while Audrey was in the hospital. Audrey came home last Wednesday and is feeling fine and the baby is so good. Joe and Liesl Hanisch drove to Chicago to pick up Poe's mother and stepdad so they could spend the Easter weekend with them. Library News The library board would welcome more adults to participate in this free service. We have 4,100 books on our shelves and there are 1,000 children's books. Our head Librarian, Mrs. Robert VanZevern, needs four volunteers to assist her once a month for the three summer months. Plans are being made for a story nour for the smaller children during summer vacation months. As there wili not be a spring dance this year, we will have a bake sale Saturday May 25, from 10 a.m. at the community center. Money is needed for supplies to complete the several thousand books tc be finished. This is a community project end residents should come and see what a good selection of books that are available to every one^ At present the library hours are 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday after Association and Woman's Club meetings. The library is in need of a permanent librarian to work the fourth Saturday of each mortfh, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Anyone interested in serving this one day a week please contact Mrs. Robert VanZevern at Hyatt 7-3202 any time after 3:15 p.m. week days, any time on Saturday or Sundays. Here And There Gloria Reinhardt spvnt several days in the West Suburban hospital for treatment. She came home Palm Sunday and is feeling so much better. Herb and Lorraine Lindemann spent Easter Sunday with their daughter, Marilyn, and family in Lansing, their son, Harry, and family, their daughter, Pat, and her fiance, Chuck, were there to make it a complete happy family gathering. Lorraine stayed for a few days at her daughter Marilyn's home. Tuesday they enjoyed a luncheon at the home of Bernice Ford, Lorraine's sister. Her sister Margaret O'Hara was there too, Lorraine has been ill all winter and could not get in to see the family. She and her daughter took in a movie and did all the things she has not been able to do all winter. Forrest and Grace Reinhar it, their son, Forrest, daughter, Gloria, and granddaughter, Dehise, spent Easter with tfieir sister-in-law Marge Reinhardt and family in Cicero. The Pink Lady Sewing Guild of the Auxiliary to the McHenry hospital met at $he home of Tess Kelly in McHenry, April 10. After the business meeting a white elephant sale was conducted. Refreshments were served and every one attending had a grand time, Lorraine Lindemann from the Highlands was on hand to enjoy the day. Gert Snell and Marge Meretb wfere unable to atteitd.
