Time of serving is from 5 to 7 p.m Little League At last week's practice games those ever winning Orioles did it again by defeating the Tigers by 15 to 7. The Pirates also defeated the Tigers by a score of 7 to 4. Keep the dale of July 13 open. It4* ihe date your Little League club will be going to Sox ball park. The League has the tickets and pays for the bus but you'd better start saving thosp pennies for spending money. Mark t he calender now so you'll remember. Get-Well Wishes Get-well wishes to Mary and Margie Becker, Frank Schaff, Eddie Linane and Jessie Matthews. Also hope Ronnie Kamo recovered from his swollen glands now that the minstrel show is over. Marine Promoted Dave Druml who returrted back to Camp Pendleton l6 days ago has been promoted to private, first glass. He Yis now in the staging a ma getting ready to leave for overseas next month. Keep up the good work, Dave, we're all proud of you. St. Mary's Graduates What a beautiful day Sunday was for a few of our younger citteens. They were graduated at 8 a.m. mass and the weather man couldn't have been nicer. Had the opportunity to read the class will .'ind "enjoyed it. From our subdivision the following graduated; Bob Deitz, who willed his soberness to one of next year's class, Mike Linane who willed" his ability to control his Irish temper. Nancy Oik who willed her ability to rat hair. Blue Bundles A 7 lb. 13 % oz. boy was bom to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dort on May 27 at the Harvard hospital. The baby was named Joseph Daniel. He has two brothers and two sisters at home. Congratulation to you both. Pink Bundles Larry and Mary Antepenko pre proud parents, of a little baby girl. Carie Lucille was born on May 23 at St. Theresa's hospital in Waukegan. She weighed 5 lbs. 10 oz. Our congratulations and best wishes' to the whole family. Baptism Six week old Rhonda Marie Koczar, daughter of Bob and Audrey Koczar, was christened last Sunday at the Zion Lutherran church in McHenry by Rev. Lobitz. The Godparents are Audrey's sister, Beverly Shill, and her brother, Bill Sargeant. A party was held afterward at the Koczar home with family and relatives attending. Troop 450 Twenty-six Boy Scouts, Ed Druml, Scoutmaster and Marv George, Ass't. Scoutmaster marched in McHenry's Memorial day parade last Thursday. Isn't it a shame that there couldn't have been more in attendance? We can't imagine why the rest of you couldn't have spared an hour or so to participate in honoring those who gave so much. To all of you Scouts and leaders go a big pat on tbe buck, you showed you care. Committee men Frank Ficek and Joe Links took eight Scouts out on Sunday to McHenry Dam to cook three complete meals enabling them to pass their requirement for first class cooking. Hear they had a wonderful time and the meals were also pretty good. Any one up about 6 a.m. on Saturday of this week can say, "Hope you make it" to part of our troop and the three leaders who are going to attempt to hike to Starve Rock. This hike has been being planned since way back in September. We hope the weather man is real good with excellant hiking weather. Read all about the hike in this column. They did a fine job of marching and are to be commended for participating. Our subdivision has ordered signs which will be posted and fines will be imposed upon violators. Boats are allowed only 5l/j horse power motors and are to be launched only at the west beach, none at the east beach. To the boys who had to show Baby Showers Last week was a busy week for baby showers with Shirley George, Maureen Johnson and Barb Meurer giving a shower for Shirley Koch and Grace Campo and Barbara Meurer giving one for Aggie Prazak. Shirley Koch's shower was held at Shirley George's home on Monday, with the following people attending. Ann Wohnrade, Donna Rode, Dorothy Dowel, Aggie Prazak, Maureen Johnson Mrs. Hanson, Joan Hardin, Ruth La Frenier: Fran, Cindy and Helen Meilahne, Lucille Plante, and grandma Plante. Roberta Decker, Rose Bockman, Gloria Flanningan, Laura Williams were unable to attend A delicious salad wa. served along with cake an< coffee. On Wednesday q shower was held for Agnes Prazak at "thr Meurcrs' residence with the following ladies attending; Kay Druml, Dotty Beck^, Dell.' Kroening, Shirley George, Bet te Kamp, Gail Parisi, Gaylr Laurstn, Vicki Bottari, Murph Kwiatek, Esther Cygan and Lorrie Mrotz. Hostess for th< shower were Barb Meurer an<] Grace Campo. Open faced sandwiches, jello, cheese cake, choclate cake, pound cake and coffee were served. Strolling Through The Park This past weekend proved to be a very active one for many of our residents. There were a great many of us attending th<> Memorial day parade. Helen Kraskiewicz received a pleasant surprise by meeting her son and daughter-in-law who were out to spend the day. Seems Gene can keep a secret. Nedra and Les Eckhart had Norb Kwiatek over for coffce and-after the parade and later had a house full of guests for dinner. Ivy and Stan Lezak had a large crowd for one of their famous picnics on Memorial Day. Our flag was raised frofri half mast at noon by Cub Scout John Flannigan and Bay Scouts, John Reining, Dennis and Kevin Druml. Sunday had the Becker and Druml families having a wonderful picnic at Big Foot. Hear tell little Margie is quite a picnicker. For a while Saturday it looked as if we were being integrated but it turned out to be our minstrel grouii leaving for their show. Lakeland Parkers were very much in evidence to back the group, even 2 week eld Jol Lynn Prazak attended. Dorothy Meineke was presented with a beautiful bouquet of roses at the close of the show. The cast used this way of showing their appreciation for all her hard work these past years. It was a wonderful show and benefited a worth while cause. Minstrel group take a well deserved bow. Sue Grizley had her nephew for the holiday weekend. Sue's mother stopped in on the way home from their trip to spend the day with Grizleys. Larry and Helen Strandquist attended a friendship picnic on Saturday at Mr. and Mrs. Lange's in Elmhurst. The;.e eight couples have been friends since early childhood. Mr, and Mrs. Larry Strandquist, Jr., from Wheaton spent the holiday with mom and dad. Our ladies bridge club attended a dinner in Dundee to end the season for summer. Helping the regular players celebrate were quests; Helen Kraskiewicz, Delia Julian, Florence Piasecki, Wilma Crane and Betty Lawrence. Hear Ronnie Kamp had a terrific session all day Saturday/ Stage fright really had Ronnie in its grips but at the evenirflf's performance' it didn't show a bit. Lyda and Bill Radisch spent a day of their weekend celebrating grandson, Carl Riley's eighth birthday. Spent whole weekend between two daughters in Carpenterville and Chicago. Vicki Bottarl's mother, Mrs. Mazzoni, is spending the week for grandson Ray's graduation. The Troy Mathews family spent the Memorial weekend in Mt. Vernon, 111. Frank and LaVerne Jlromec and family sp&nt the Memorial day holiday in Springfield, Ohio, at her Uncle's LaVerne's folks flew there from Colorado. Bir.ce and Beth then flew i back to Colorado with their grandparents for an extended vacation. The Meurer family spent Memorial day in Wheaton at Barb's sister's home where an outdoor barbeque was enjoyed. They then went to Grandma Miller's farm where the kids k'ol to ride the Shetland pony. Margaret Jean Parisi graduated from Marian Central high school on Sunday, June 2. A chicken dinner was had before hand at her mother's house with the following people attending. Mr. and Mrs. Z. Sak, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cholewa and children, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Slonina and children, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Parisi, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Parisi and children, Jim Cholewa, Mrs. Pary Palermo, Miss Sandra Bucaro, Jim Neff, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Piasecki and Miss Elaine Piasecki. Such A Lovely Afternoon 'Mmmm such a delicious luncheon.-- wasn't the spaghetti good -- how efficient and pleasant and quick the girls served -- what appropriate and cute table prizes -- how nice the Community house and tables look -- were just a few of the compliments and phrases floating around the Lakeland Park Community House on Wednesday afternoon, May 29 the day of the welcome committee's annual spring luncheon. And the happy, smiling girls on the committee chalked up another social and financial success for the Lakeland Park Women's club. Lyda Radisch, committee chairman is beaming with pride at the great job her girls did - and feels each one deserves praise;-this group consisting of Vickey Bottari, Lillian Glosson, Louise Mc- Enery, Jean Parisi, Jo Rizzo, Ruth Roach, who always helps at the luncheon, and also Shirley Lexow (of Carpentcrsville) Lyda's daughter.
