Russell Davis blew out the candles on June 4. Girl Scouts Thoop 436 The girls are busy making plans for their camp out at Chapman Hills in Troy, Wis., which will take place June 11, 12, and 13. Cub Scouts Pack 162 The circus held at the park meeting on Monday, May 27, was a huge success. The boys did a very nice job. #The following boys received awards: Steve" Simpson, Bear badge and one gold arrow; Joel Saynor, Bear badge; Ken Congdon, Wolf badge, one gold arrow, one silver arrow; Scott Wilhelm, Silver arrow; Jimmy Qual, one gold and one silver arrow; and Ernie Kuck, Bern badge and one gold arrow. Eugene Kuck graduated from Webelos into Scouts and was presented his Scout neckerchief and welcomed into Troop 162. Den No. 1 Worked on their Father's Day gifts and played new games. There will be only one den meeting a month for the summer vacation. Den No. 2 'The boys spent their meeting making a wall plaque of the Scout Promise. Intyre and Jackie Biederer were in a number called "Blue Belles," with others. Darcy Mnrcotte, Sheri Landin and Debbie Wilson were in a number, with others, called "Strolling Through The Park." Other than the proud parents, there were many relatives and friends who attended this affair. Birthday Party Marissa Mclntyre, Susan Borcovan and Gail Engstrom were the guests of Cynthia Landin on Monday, May 27 to help celebrate her fifth birthday. Lakemoor-Lilymoor LAKEMOOR SCOUTS DRILL TEAM WINS SECOND PLACE i Shlrtty Bctraerr S85-SS45 Thursday, May 30, was a big and proud day for the Lakemoor Scouts drill tearn sponsored by the V. F. W. Post 4600 of McHenry. In competition with eleven other drill teams, Lakemoor took the second place trophy. It all took place in Kenosha, Wis. There were ten drill teams from Wisconsin and two from Illinois. Round Lake took first place. The Lakemoor Drill team also received three certificates from the commander of Great Lakes. Each group, the color guards and boys and girls team, received a certificate. . ^ Congratulations go to you on receiving the trophy and certificates. Keep up the good work. Card Party Saturday, June 15, is the bin night for the father's day card party. It will be held in the large hall of club Lilymoor. The party is sponsored by the Woman's auxiliary. You may purchase your tickets from Pearle Stineman or any member of the auxiliary. Refreshments will be served and there will be prizes. Baseball Boys? Parents, if your boy or boys are interested in playing baseball they are welcome to join the baseball team in Lakemoor. For full details contact Dick Hyatt at 385-4007. Party Was held in the home of Mary Schiavone a few weeks ago. Those girls who attend the party and had such a good time were Donna, Vallerie and Karen Schiavone, Diana and Cynthia Belford, Jackie Bitterman, Maryanne Brzezinski and Linda Goss. Everyone had a grand time. They had a pot-luck picnic lunch. The boys played baseball and the girls played badminton. There were races and first, second and third place ribbons were given to the winners. They also played catchers tag and went fishing. • Awards were also given out At the picnic. Gary Stoll rectived a silver arrow. The meetings for Pack 454 have been discontinued until September. Around The Manor The Newlons had as weekend guests Rosemary's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walford and children and her aunt, Mrs. Crowl of Chicago. They jyerit xoller skating on Saturday night and had a very hlce time. Lydia Fenner attended a bridal shower for her niece. Nancy Zelko, ir\ Chicago on Saturday. Eleanor and Walt Kuck. attended a meeting of their boat club at Fox Lake, on Saturday evening. They had something to eat and danced afterwards. On Sunday all the members •f their boat club met at 1 p.m. 6n the Fox River and spent the day travelling on the river. They ended the day grilling steaks and having a picnic supper at the home of Tom and Betty Schwciss. Marge and Harry Brodin and boys journeyed to Michigun City, Ind., on Saturday to visit with long time friends, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Chapman. As always, there just weren't enough hours in the day. They had a wonderful time. The Arnold Ecklunds, parents of Pam Woodbury and Irene Betke, were out visiting and to celebrate Mrs. Eckluntt s birthday. Irene Betke served a turkey dinner for this occasion. I am also told that Mr. and Mrs. Ecklund celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary last month. Belated congratulations, folks. On Wednesday, Lydia Fenner attended the funeral of her Aunt Catherine Duber of Chicago. We had as weekend guests at our house, my sister, Mrs. Ward of Maywood, and her three teenagers. Bunco Club The last gathering of the Bunco Club for the summer took place oh Tuesday evening at the home of Erika Halde- . man. A delicious cheese cakc and coffee were served. Alberta Sobacki won first prize and bunco prize. Jeanne McHale won booby prize. Dance Recital The Nancy Gardiner School of Dance presented a recital on Saturday evening. Quite a few young ladies in our subdivision took part. ; j, Lynn Kellogg, Marissa Mclntyre and Cynthia Landin 4ook part in a ballet number entitled "The Shy Lions."
