Of course, we also need people to buy. Our church needs a new cacuum cleaner which the Sodality is planning to buy with the proceeds of this sale, So let's all pitch in and make it a big success! • A pot-luck supper is planned for the regular monthly meeting of St. John's Blessed Virgin Sodality. This will take place on July 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the community club hall. Each member attending is asked to bring a dish to pass. This will be a most important meeting as plans for the annual church carnival and dinner will be made. The Sodality extends an invitation to all the ladies, of our parish to attend this special meeting. It's a good way to get acquainted. Another Sparkling Announcement Sept. 14 is the date recently set for the forthcoming marriage of Elaine Weber and Robert Otis, Elaine's engagement was announced by her parents, Martin and Rosina Weber. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs E. B. Otis of Crystal Lake. The marriage ceremony will take place in St. John's church. Happiness in their future years are extended to this young couple. Associations in Milwaukee. They are the daughters of Leo and Martha Freund and Lyn and Ann Duechers respectively. Temporarily Incapa elated With our fingers crossed, we hope Gerry wakitsch will return home from his stay in the McHenry hospital in a few days. A toe infection has had him confined there since June 22. Leo Deidrich underwent surgery in Rochester, Minn., recently. Our prayers are said daily for his ccmplete recovery. A recent patient in the Woodstock hospital is Jean Degan. We certainly hope it is just a short confinement. Wishes for a quick recovery to the above mentioned persons and anyone else who is on the sick list. Presented At Font The infant daughter of Lowell and Donna Anderson was baptized Dawn Marie on June 23 in St. John's church. Sponsors were Gene and Judy Nett. A cookout for the sponsors and the Anderson family took place later. In the evening hours other relatives dropped in to see little Dawn Marie on her big day. Chicago Outing Some sixty weary travelers returned to our town about 9 o'clock last Wednesday evening. Six women and fifty-four juvenile Foresters -- members of St. Agatha's Court made a day long outing by bus to Chicago. The group visited a candy factory, Lincoln Park Zoo, Museum of Science and Industry, Chinatown and O'Hare Airport. Needless to say it was a most enjoyable trip for all. On the way home the large groups stopped off at a drive-in for hamburgers and "the works." I imagine those cooks really scurried when they saw that gang. Special thanks to Catherine Debn, Lou La Bay, Jo Haag, Nancy Weber, Marie Oeffling and Virginia Pitzen who accompanied the girls on this outing. Center Of Attraction Ycung Gary Allan Guetzloff may not be quite aware of all the fuss being made over him. But his mom, Marilyn, -sure is. A second shower honoring the newcomer, was held in the Grayslake home of Marilyn's sister, Dolores Freitag, last Wednesday evening. Patricia Seaton was the co-hostess. Once again this young fellow was gifted with many lovely things. A beautiful buggy was presented to him via his grandparents, Marilyn's folks. Some twenty guests including the baby's great-grandmother were in attendance at the shower. On Sunday, June 23, the Zion Lutheran church was the scene of Gary Allan's baptism. Sponsors were Dolores Freitag and William Freitag II. Sixteen years ago Marilyn was sponsor for her nephew and now he returns the honor. Honoring this joyous occasion, a dinner was held in the Guetzloff home. Later in the day, George and Marilyn took their son on his girst auto trip. They visited at the A1 Guetzloff home where Gary got acquainted with all his relatives on that side of the family. Club Meeting The regular monthly meeting of the Johnsburg Community Club was held in the hall on July 1 at 8:30 p.m. Over Too Fast The vacation of the Bud Lieser family Is what I had reference to. Bud, Shirley and their three youngsters tfook off up North for a week's fishing. I wonder how many big ones got away. A Note Of Sadness Our sincere sympathies to the Anton Weber family upon the recent death of his brother, Edward Weber. Mr. Weber died of a heart attack at the age of 42 on June 23. He is survived by his widow three daughters, one son, his mother, three sisters and another brother, also a step-sister. He was the uncle of Mrs. Dolares Meyer of Jak-Ana Heights. Degrees Awarded The pictures of Charlene Freund and Karen Duescher appeared in last week's paper following their recent graduation. Miss Freund received her bachelor of science in education degree when she was among the 1963 graduating class at Northern Illinois university following graduation, Miss Duescher is now a full fledged dental assistant. She was among sixty students completing their training at the Career Acadcmy for Medical-Dental Not One--But Two Roger and Gloria Pechous received word last week from Hawaii that his brother Jack, and his wife welcomed twin daughters. The babies put in their appearance on a most fitting day, June 16-- Fathers Day! Buttons were popping in Pompano Beach, Fla., when the paternal grandparents got the word. Sincere best wishes to all! felccgned coi Third Addition Welt The long legged bird--commonly called the stork, delivered a healthy 7% lb. b^by boy to Carl and Diane Neiss. The McHenry hospital was the place, and June 26 was the date. Randy and Monica, the baby's older brother and sister are real proud of the new family member. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Freund are equally pleased with their new grandson. Congratulations and best wishes to all concerned! Kindergarten Bus Service This will be a most happy message to parents who have children going into kindergarten this fall. Bus services will be available for both morning and afternoon classes. Anyone who is interested in obtaining this service please contact Frank Schafer at 385-0598. Special thanks to all those women who signed up so that this bus service was realized. Squad Answers Calls Again this past week, our Johnsburg rescue squad was called upon to administer their aid. The squad members answered three different calls. One took them to Pistakee Highlands where a victim suffered a possible heart attack. An ambulance was summoned to transport the patient to the hospital. On the road to the Highlands an auto accident occurred early in the week. Two persons were taken in the squad ambulance to the McHenry hospital. One was admitted and the other was treated and released. An infant in Riverdale subdivison suffered a convulsion and was taken by the squad to the hospital. Hats off to all the Johnsburg rescue squad members! May this organization continue for years and years to come. Caution Urged The Fourth of July holiday is upon us once again.
