If your children start moaning "WHAT'S THERE TO DO!" as summer starts to drag, here are some GAMES TO KEEP 'EM BUSY: PAPER BASKETBALL -- object is to toss balled-up Newspaper in a wastebasket. Game is ten. Winner gets extra scoop of ice cream. Loser helps with dishes or makes both beds. HERE'S ANOTHER -- make monster masks out of big paper bags. Paste on odd-colored bits of paper. Can even use leaves, old wire or rope, or towels for beards. Be prepared this summer against POISON IVY and its cousins, Poison Oak and Poison Sumac. Unfortunately, poison ivy is an allergen and you don't have to step in it to get it. Even a garden tool can cause it. Protective creams help some, but tend to rub off. That old remedy, yellow laundry soap, only helps if rubbed on at once --otherwise only irritates tender skin. Best, have calamine lotion handy or use diluted solution of tannic or boric acid. So practical -- SEW A QUILTED BAND acrose the bottom of a plain-cut apron. The quilting makes the handiest - ever pot holder. Have pockets, too, by making the band wider at each end.
