Thursday, Jujy 11, 1963 THE MrHENRY PLAINDEALER Pistakee Highlands POPULAR COUPLE OBSERVES SILVER WEDDING DATE Kay Sielisch HYatt 7-S414 Congratulations to a very popular couple Forrest Mid Grace Reinhardt, who will be celebrating their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, July 16. Forrest and Grace were married in Chicago where they both grew up. They moved to the Highlands 8 years ago. Their beautiful home is on 5711 N. Fox Lake Road. During the 8 years they have made numerous friends who join me in wishing them a very wonderful day and many more years of wedded bliss. The Reinhardts have two b e a u t i f u l c h i l d r e n G l o r i a and Forrest, Jr., better khown as Woody. They have a beautiful blonde haired granddaughter, Denise. Grace's parents, Roy and Gert Snell, make their home with them. Forrest is employed in Chicago and Grace works in acplocal bank where she has made a host of friends from every subdivision and in McHenry. To this grand couple what ever way they choose to celebrate their big day, I can only hope it will be as happy as the first day, 25 years ago. Bus Service May Be Discontinued Due to the lack of people using the bus to Fox Lake it may be discontinued very soon. The bus driver is going to try for two more weeks to fill the bus and if that does not work it will be discontinued. The bus will leave at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays the next two weeks, so it is up to the residents if you want this very convenient service after you no longer have it. It will be too late to moan about being stuck with no way to get to town. Library Notes There will be two more story hours and that completes the series. The board is very happy over the success of the story hour. A big orchid to Jocelyn Staudenmaier who has devoted her time to make the series so very interesting. She has done a tremendous job. Plant Tour A plant tour is scheduled for all ladies of the Highlands and their friends are welcome to join the tour. Please call Blanche Haefliger, Hyatt 7- 3385, before July*24 the date of the tour and get your reservations in to her. Bus Service For Kindergarten Our appreciation to the two gals in the Highlands who worked so hard to get this service, Sylvia Murray and Joan Zilligen, and to all the mothers who came forth and signed up for the bus service. The mothers will not have to worry about car pools, etc. The surrounding subdivisions have signed up for this service and without their help the bus couldn't have been chartered for the kindergarten classes. If there are any more mothers who did not sign up and are interested in this bus service you may call Mr. Schafer at 385-0598 and leave your name, address and phone number. The women really worked hard for this project. Speeders On Brotulway Speeders who use West Broadway as a race track are making life miserable for the residents, not only endangering the lives of many little tots on the street, but the terrific amount of dust raised makes keeping a home clean impossible. Everything is covered with gray dust it is too bad the streets are not patroled. The County could make a fortune with fines. For some reason or other the traffic has increased tremendously on Broadway and the rate of speed in beyond all reason. After a child has been killed or injured it is too late to slow down. Please watch your speed you don't have to drive 70 miles an hour to make the hill. We who live on the hill can make it from a dead stop and with ease. If speeding isn't stopped many residents are ready to sign complaints against the speeders. Maybe this would slow them down. Highlands Mourn Death Of Bernie Althoff Many of the St. John's school children and the members of the sodality and parish express their deepest sympathy to the Bernie Althoff family, and we shall miss him very much. We who knew him such a short while knew him as a very frien ly and most wonderful kind man. His passing has left a void that will be hard to fill. He left a wonderful memory for all of us to treasure. Birthdays Late again with a birthday but happy birthday wishes go to A. O. Jensen who celebrated his birthday, July 2, with his wife and daughters and grandchildren. His daughters, Jeanne and Judy, presented him with a very beautiful birthday cake.
