' s Thursday, July 11, 1963 THE McHENBT PLAXNDEALER Page Tweniy-OiM Pistakee Terrace KERN FAMILY MOVES TO NEW HOME IN EAST Joyee^Toepper -- S85-S044 The Donald Kern family leaves our midst on July 14. One year ago Don was informed of a planned move by his company to switch their offices to Philadelphia, Pa. The Kerns moved to our subdivision five years ago last May and have made many friends here. But rather than give up 13 years of service and hi* job in methods research they purchased a house in Springfield, Pa. The moving van will be at the Kern home on Thursday or Friday after which Don, Lory, and children will stay with Don's parents, the William Kerns, for the weekend. Don will leave on Saturday, July 13, with the car and drive to Pa. On Sunday the senior Kerns will see Loretta, Regina, Karen, and little Donnie on the plane which will whiz them to their new home. It goes without saying we will miss the entire family, but do wish them the best of everything. We know they will be making new friends very soon for they are a likable family -- just hope they don't forget to let us know once in awhile how things are. Also leaving us this midmonth is Williard and Eola Hillman, and Wayne Walters. With Jim, Birdie, Brent and Brad Deppmeier along with Jim Walter moving into the nfcwly finished Deppmeier home on Circle on June 29, the Hillmans found their house too big for them. The one consolation to our losing these good friends is that they are only moving as far away as Smith's. Sunny Banks, Mc- Henry, near Johnsburg. Association Elects New Officers The Pistakee Terrace association held its annual election on July 1 at the home of outgoing President, Ron Wiggerman. New officers for the next year include: Calvin Vyduna, president, James Bush, vice-president, Pat Merhaut, secretary, Roy Erickson, treasurer, Anthony Kurowski, Eleanor Moore, and Joyce Toepper, directors. Kindergarten Bus Service Just a reminder to those parents who have children beginning kindergarten at Johnsburg in September. For the first time a bus service will be available for both morning and afternoon classes. Anyone not already signed up may call Frank Schafer at 385-0598. Auxiliary Holds Election Tonight The Pistakee Terrace Women's auxiliary will hold their annual election tonight, July 11, at the home of their president, Eleanor Moore. There are still some offices to be filled. Although many of you don't like to hold an office I urge you to reconsider. The women not only raise a good portion of the necessary funds for the association needs but have three affairs a year for the many children in our subdivision. If each one of us would accept one small job a year for the auxiliary it would make light work for all of us. Mt. Hope Methodist Church News On Aug. 17 from 4 till 8 p.m. the. Mt.
