Kurt Slusher, baity son of the Slusher family on Driftwood Drive, has recently been hospitalized with luekcitrfa. I could ro on giving details, but I'm sure that is not necessary. He needs blood. The people of Holiday Hills have always been right the!* when someone needs help. It's needed now. Any of you who are capable of donating blood are asked to contact Woodstock hospital for an appointment. Simply state that the blood is to go to Baby Kurt Slusher. Harvard hospital. Our hearts and prayers go out to this family in this time of trouble. God-parents were Carol £rysiak and Jim Szamblewski. A dinner in celebration of this memorable occasion followed, with grandparents, relatives friends and neighbors in attendance, Another Breakfast Coming Up The Griswold Lake Athletic Club will hold its next outdoor breakfast on Sunday, Aug. 25. Be sure to mark ihe date on your calendar. Light The Way Home What a pleasure it is to come home late at night, and find the entrance of the subdivision on the first approach. It looks like daylight 24 hours a day now. Just think, no more getting out the car to find lost guests who just couldn't find Holiday Hills, and have been driving up and down River road for the past hour. Now with the sign Hank Haufe made and the light to show it up, no one can miss us. All Star* ©uf congratulations to the boys who made the Island Lake Little League All Stars. Holiday Hillers who made the team were Mike and Tom Janik and Steve Salter. Vandalism Have you ever been watching T.V. and had the caption i "Do you know where your children?" come across the screen? Parents are liable for this kind of damage. Mr. Raven .%ias asked, very nicely, that the parents pimme oo-operate in keeping the children well away from the area. Ssamblewski Baby Christened Kathleen Ann Szamblewski was christened at St. Mary's church on Sunday, July 14. Her Bryan's 2nd Birthday Bryan Malzahn celebrated his second birthday, with not one, hut two parties. On his birthday, Saturday, July 20, he had birthday and jHinoh for his playmates, Joj^ an<) Jill Bodenheim, Ricky ' Nelson, Kurt, Keith and Patrick Teuber, July 21, a dinner for his Godparents, Pat and Ron Weinrich^ and Grandma and Grandpa Malzahn. He's a busy boy these days with his new polyethclyene tractor and go-cart. Nancy's Parity Little Nancy Harper had five candles on her cake when she celebrated her birthday on Monday, July 22. Games, under the supervision of her sister, Janet, and brother, Jimmy, were played by Judy Abbink, Roy Breede, Scott and Candy Musolf, Gigi Smith, Bonnie and Wayne Wemken, Susan and Alan White and Wendy Young. Lunch was served to all her little friends as well as their mothers. Drltbie's Day Debbie Mahon's big day was Thursday, July 25. On that day, she was 7 years old. A parly was held in her honor with eleven of her friends lor lunch. On hand to help her celcbra'e were Tom Lundelius, Johnny and Kenny Boettcher, Richard Saw isch, Diane Weiss, Joey and Rosemary Foreman, Linda and Steve Stanchuck, and brother, Billy. Refreshments for the day included hot dogs, barlwue, cake, etc. Last Swimming Today The last swimming lesson for this year are being held this morning at; the lake ,lje?ich. Ujion completion of Ihe lessons, those who have the required tests will be given awards. These will l>e presented home time in the next week. Tommy Ary is celrbrai ing his tenth birthday, today, Aug. 2, along with Harry Schmitt. A happy anniversary, a little late to Carl and Irene Weis.* whose ninth wedding annivei - sary was yesterday, July 31. Hmmm, I must lie confused, I thought they just had a wedding in June... .Today is a big day at the Schmitt house, besides Harry's birthday, he and Elaine are married nine years today. Neighborly Notes All kinds of big parlies were held in the subdivision la^t weekend. Over sixty friends and relatives enjoyed a day of fun irt the sun, with swimming, badminlon, volley ball, baseball, horseshoes. Fun for all, from tots to grandparents was the order of the day. Couple's Club The Couples Club from St. John's Lutheran church held a swim and water ski party at. the home of Dave and Evelyn Monday on Bangs Lake in VVauconda on Saturday July 20. August 5, 1963 for the construction of Section 9-T-CS under the Illinois Highway Code. Section 9-T-CS will consist the construction of a bituinous concrete surface course Class B, Sub-Class B-5 on Kane Street from Center Street to Green Street (Elgin Road). No proposals will be released for bidding after 11:00 A.M., C.D.S.T., August 2, 1963. All proposals must be accompanied by a Bank Cashier's Check, Certified Check, or Bank Draft in an amount of not less than ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid or for the amount listed in Article 2.7 of the Standard Specifications. A bid bond will not be acceptable as a proposal guarantee. No bids will be withdrawn without the consent of the Municipality for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. The contractor and. subcontractor shall pay not -less than the prevailing rate of wages as found by the Municipality, Department of Labor or as determined by the court on appeal, to all laborers, workmen and mechanics performing work under this contract. All bidders mtrst be "prequalified" in accordance with State of Illinois requirements and proposals will be released only to bidders so prequalified. ** The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.
