They were Judged on their poise during the parade, and their costumes. President Joan Schroeder presided over the group, dressed as a pretty French maid. A movie on France followed the business meeting, and Dot Gabriel entertained with an amusing pantomime. It was a very enjoyable evefor all who came out to [Join ik on the fun. Patty Baird returned to her home in Holiday Hills after an extended stay in the hospital. Her family, friends and neighbors are happy to see her shining eyes and smiling face back in our midst again. After ten days at home she had a slight set-back, which we all pray is not serious. Patty loOks different. Besides having a birthday since we last saw her, she has also added a few pounds. One of her brothers affectionately calls her Fatty Baird instead of Patty these days, and that's fine with all of us, it's so good to see her again. , Bonnie Is 2 Little Bonnie Wemken, who was 2 years old on Aug. 1, celebrated her birthday with a party for the family. Her godmother, who just moved to Atlanta, Ga., was missed around a table where she surely would have been if she'd just been a little closer. However, the rest of the family joined in on the celebration to make it a happy, happy birthday for Bonnie. Skin Divers' Outing A group of young people who took instruction in skin diving down at the lake beach, finished up their lessons with an outing at Lake Geneva on Saturday, Aug! 3. The day was spent swimming, diving and what else? -- eating! Victor Justes, Sr., furnished transportation on land and the water by driving up there and taking his boat along for use in the water. Teubers Seven gpls, who were friends when they attended Foreman high school in Chicago, gathered at the home of Midge Teuber with their families for a picnic on Sunday, Aug. 11. Never has there lived a man who accomplished all he wanted to do. •, or went everywhere he meant to go,^: Time and Distance like prison walls surround every life, ultimately frustrating man's hopes and dreams. We are told that science is finding ways to multiply time, to divide distance. A gadget can save you an hour. A jet will cut your journey in half. But should the day come when man can live to 150, and a round-trip to the moon will be called "commuting" -- we'll stiU be living within the same walls ... time ... distance ... In fact, the only hopes of mankind which ever reach beyond these walls are our religious beliefs. In our churches we come to know the Eternal, the Everywhere. Faith dissolves frustration.
