We hate to see folks like the Schlicks leave our community. We hope you both will love California but remember us. Pastor Transferred It was a very sad week in the Highlands when word was spread of Rev. Smith's transferral. Rev. Smith had been with us over two years and had worked so very hard to make the church a success. His many acts of kindness to all, regardless of faith, will long be remembered. His wife, Florence, was an inspiration to him and his parish. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand where ever it was needed. Their good will in the community set an example for every one to follow. Their love of God, family, church and community was inspirational. Rev. Smith worked so hard for every thing and every one that often his health was impaired but he always bounded back only to work harder than liefore. Both he and his wife have many firm friends from all faiths who are very sad to see them go. They have three lovely daughters, two of whom were born in McHenry. Vicki, Hope and Jamie add much joy to their happy married life. To Rev. Stewart Smith and his wife, Florence, we all join in wishing them much happiness in your residence. Every one was deeply shocked when they heard the news, including Wally and I. Please try to remember all of us in the Highlands and the best of every thing to you both and come to see us often.
