The club is holding their annual spaghetti supper at my home, Sunday at 7:30. Following a social time during supper, Pastor Nieting will present a discussion period. Scouts The scouting program for girls and boys is very important in their development. We've always had such a good scouting program here -- with many parents devoting time to this important work. Has your child been in scouts?--and enjoyed all its advantages? If you haven't given any time and your children have enjoyed scouting, how about taking your turn now? It's very rewarding work, as anyone who has participated will tell you. Without YOU--there will be no scouts.. Call Gerry Breede on the Brownies or Girl Scouts, and Jack Connell on the Cub Scouts. Boy Scouts, you have a leader, call Victor . Justes, Sr., to get your name on this year's charter and find out when scout meetings are held. Greetings Belated birthday greetings to little Erika Brant who was one year old on Sept. 16 and a happy birthday to my neighbor Bill Abbink who catches up to me Sept. 25. Advertise - It Pays! Every Sunday morning we used to drive to Church in Pop's old "flivver," picking up the Parson on the way. Today I live in a great city. I ride commuter's trains, and dictate letters, and spend endless hours "in conference." But I've never forgotten our Church in the field. It plowed deep furrows in my life, and planted the seeds of real happiness. Now I worship in a big city church. You might think it would be different; but it isn't. Folks are just as friendly. The Truth is just the same. And God is just as close. You see, in the country or in the city, Christians are conscientious people trying to be better. And for folks like you and me who worship God, the Church--big or little--is home. Copyright 1963, Keister Advertising Service, Inc., Straiburg, Va.
